ヨハネの黙示録 Revelation 1 1
1 1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants--things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, イエス・キリストの黙示。この黙示は、神が、すぐにも起るべきことをその僕たちに示すためキリストに与え、そして、キリストが、御使をつかわして、僕ヨハネに伝えられたものである。
1 2 who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw. ヨハネは、神の言とイエス・キリストのあかしと、すなわち、自分が見たすべてのことをあかしした。
1 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near. この預言の言葉を朗読する者と、これを聞いて、その中に書かれていることを守る者たちとは、さいわいである。時が近づいているからである。
1 4 John, to the seven churches which are in Asia:Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, ヨハネからアジヤにある七つの教会へ。今いまし、昔いまし、やがてきたるべきかたから、また、その御座の前にある七つの霊から、
1 5and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, また、忠実な証人、死人の中から最初に生れた者、地上の諸王の支配者であるイエス・キリストから、恵みと平安とが、あなたがたにあるように。わたしたちを愛し、その血によってわたしたちを罪から解放し、
1 6 and has made us kingsand priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. わたしたちを、その父なる神のために、御国の民とし、祭司として下さったかたに、世々限りなく栄光と権力とがあるように、アァメン。
1 7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. 見よ、彼は、雲に乗ってこられる。すべての人の目、ことに、彼を刺しとおした者たちは、彼を仰ぎ見るであろう。また地上の諸族はみな、彼のゆえに胸を打って嘆くであろう。しかり、アァメン。
1 8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End," says the Lord,"who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." 今いまし、昔いまし、やがてきたるべき者、全能者にして主なる神が仰せになる、「わたしはアルパであり、オメガである」。
1 9 I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. あなたがたの兄弟であり、共にイエスの苦難と御国と忍耐とにあずかっている、わたしヨハネは、神の言とイエスのあかしとのゆえに、パトモスという島にいた。
1 10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet, ところが、わたしは、主の日に御霊に感じた。そして、わたしのうしろの方で、ラッパのような大きな声がするのを聞いた。
1 11 saying, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last," and, "What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea." その声はこう言った、「あなたが見ていることを書きものにして、それをエペソ、スミルナ、ペルガモ、テアテラ、サルデス、ヒラデルヒヤ、ラオデキヤにある七つの教会に送りなさい」。
1 12 Then I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands, そこでわたしは、わたしに呼びかけたその声を見ようとしてふりむいた。ふりむくと、七つの金の燭台が目についた。
1 13 and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band. それらの燭台の間に、足までたれた上着を着、胸に金の帯をしめている人の子のような者がいた。
1 14 His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire; そのかしらと髪の毛とは、雪のように白い羊毛に似て真白であり、目は燃える炎のようであった。
1 15 His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters; その足は、炉で精錬されて光り輝くしんちゅうのようであり、声は大水のとどろきのようであった。
1 16 He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength. その右手に七つの星を持ち、口からは、鋭いもろ刃のつるぎがつき出ており、顔は、強く照り輝く太陽のようであった。
1 17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, "Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. わたしは彼を見たとき、その足もとに倒れて死人のようになった。すると、彼は右手をわたしの上において言った、「恐れるな。わたしは初めであり、終りであり、
1 18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death. また、生きている者である。わたしは死んだことはあるが、見よ、世々限りなく生きている者である。そして、死と黄泉とのかぎを持っている。
1 19 Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place after this. そこで、あなたの見たこと、現在のこと、今後起ろうとすることを、書きとめなさい。
1 20 The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands which you saw are the seven churches. あなたがわたしの右手に見た七つの星と、七つの金の燭台との奥義は、こうである。すなわち、七つの星は七つの教会の御使であり、七つの燭台は七つの教会である。

2 1 "To the angel of the church of Ephesus write,'These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands: エペソにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『右の手に七つの星を持つ者、七つの金の燭台の間を歩く者が、次のように言われる。
2 2 I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; わたしは、あなたのわざと労苦と忍耐とを知っている。また、あなたが、悪い者たちをゆるしておくことができず、使徒と自称してはいるが、その実、使徒でない者たちをためしてみて、にせ者であると見抜いたことも、知っている。
2 3 and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name's sake and have not become weary. あなたは忍耐をし続け、わたしの名のために忍びとおして、弱り果てることがなかった。
2 4 Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. しかし、あなたに対して責むべきことがある。あなたは初めの愛から離れてしまった。
2 5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place--unless you repent. そこで、あなたはどこから落ちたかを思い起し、悔い改めて初めのわざを行いなさい。もし、そうしないで悔い改めなければ、わたしはあなたのところにきて、あなたの燭台をその場所から取りのけよう。
2 6 But this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. しかし、こういうことはある。あなたはニコライ宗の人々のわざを憎んでおり、わたしもそれを憎んでいる。
2 7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God." ' 耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい。勝利を得る者には、神のパラダイスにあるいのちの木の実を食べることをゆるそう』。
2 8 "And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write,'These things says the First and the Last, who was dead, and came to life: スミルナにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『初めであり、終りである者、死んだことはあるが生き返った者が、次のように言われる。
2 9 I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. わたしは、あなたの苦難や、貧しさを知っている（しかし実際は、あなたは富んでいるのだ）。また、ユダヤ人と自称してはいるが、その実ユダヤ人でなくてサタンの会堂に属する者たちにそしられていることも、わたしは知っている。
2 10 Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. あなたの受けようとする苦しみを恐れてはならない。見よ、悪魔が、あなたがたのうちのある者をためすために、獄に入れようとしている。あなたがたは十日の間、苦難にあうであろう。死に至るまで忠実であれ。そうすれば、いのちの冠を与えよう。
2 11 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death." ' 耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい。勝利を得る者は、第二の死によって滅ぼされることはない』。
2 12 "And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write,'These things says He who has the sharp two-edged sword: ペルガモにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『鋭いもろ刃のつるぎを持っているかたが、次のように言われる。
2 13 I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan's throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. わたしはあなたの住んでいる所を知っている。そこにはサタンの座がある。あなたは、わたしの名を堅く持ちつづけ、わたしの忠実な証人アンテパスがサタンの住んでいるあなたがたの所で殺された時でさえ、わたしに対する信仰を捨てなかった。
2 14 But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality. しかし、あなたに対して責むべきことが、少しばかりある。あなたがたの中には、現にバラムの教を奉じている者がある。バラムは、バラクに教え込み、イスラエルの子らの前に、つまずきになるものを置かせて、偶像にささげたものを食べさせ、また不品行をさせたのである。
2 15 Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. 同じように、あなたがたの中には、ニコライ宗の教を奉じている者もいる。
2 16 Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth. だから、悔い改めなさい。そうしないと、わたしはすぐにあなたのところに行き、わたしの口のつるぎをもって彼らと戦おう。
2 17 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it." ' 耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい。勝利を得る者には、隠されているマナを与えよう。また、白い石を与えよう。この石の上には、これを受ける者のほかだれも知らない新しい名が書いてある』。
2 18 "And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write,'These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass: テアテラにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『燃える炎のような目と光り輝くしんちゅうのような足とを持った神の子が、次のように言われる。
2 19 I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first. わたしは、あなたのわざと、あなたの愛と信仰と奉仕と忍耐とを知っている。また、あなたの後のわざが、初めのよりもまさっていることを知っている。
2 20 Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. しかし、あなたに対して責むべきことがある。あなたは、あのイゼベルという女を、そのなすがままにさせている。この女は女預言者と自称し、わたしの僕たちを教え、惑わして、不品行をさせ、偶像にささげたものを食べさせている。
2 21 And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. わたしは、この女に悔い改めるおりを与えたが、悔い改めてその不品行をやめようとはしない。
2 22 Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. 見よ、わたしはこの女を病の床に投げ入れる。この女と姦淫する者をも、悔い改めて彼女のわざから離れなければ、大きな患難の中に投げ入れる。
2 23 I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works. また、この女の子供たちをも打ち殺そう。こうしてすべての教会は、わたしが人の心の奥底までも探り知る者であることを悟るであろう。そしてわたしは、あなたがたひとりびとりのわざに応じて報いよう。
2 24 Now to you I say, and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, who have not known the depths of Satan, as they say, I will put on you no other burden. また、テアテラにいるほかの人たちで、まだあの女の教を受けておらず、サタンの、いわゆる「深み」を知らないあなたがたに言う。わたしは別にほかの重荷を、あなたがたに負わせることはしない。
2 25 But hold fast what you have till I come. ただ、わたしが来る時まで、自分の持っているものを堅く保っていなさい。
2 26 And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations-- 勝利を得る者、わたしのわざを最後まで持ち続ける者には、諸国民を支配する権威を授ける。
2 27 'He shall rule them with a rod of iron; They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter's vessels'-- as I also have received from My Father; 彼は鉄のつえをもって、ちょうど土の器を砕くように、彼らを治めるであろう。それは、わたし自身が父から権威を受けて治めるのと同様である。
2 28 and I will give him the morning star. わたしはまた、彼に明けの明星を与える。
2 29 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." ' 耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい』。

3 1 "And to the angel of the church in Sardis write,'These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: "I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. サルデスにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『神の七つの霊と七つの星とを持つかたが、次のように言われる。わたしはあなたのわざを知っている。すなわち、あなたは、生きているというのは名だけで、実は死んでいる。
3 2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. 目をさましていて、死にかけている残りの者たちを力づけなさい。わたしは、あなたのわざが、わたしの神のみまえに完全であるとは見ていない。
3 3 Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. だから、あなたが、どのようにして受けたか、また聞いたかを思い起して、それを守りとおし、かつ悔い改めなさい。もし目をさましていないなら、わたしは盗人のように来るであろう。どんな時にあなたのところに来るか、あなたには決してわからない。
3 4 You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. しかし、サルデスにはその衣を汚さない人が、数人いる。彼らは白い衣を着て、わたしと共に歩みを続けるであろう。彼らは、それにふさわしい者である。
3 5 He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. 勝利を得る者は、このように白い衣を着せられるのである。わたしは、その名をいのちの書から消すようなことを、決してしない。また、わたしの父と御使たちの前で、その名を言いあらわそう。
3 6 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." ' 耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい』。
3 7 "And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write,'These things says He who is holy, He who is true, "He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens": ヒラデルヒヤにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『聖なる者、まことなる者、ダビデのかぎを持つ者、開けばだれにも閉じられることがなく、閉じればだれにも開かれることのない者が、次のように言われる。
3 8 I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name. わたしは、あなたのわざを知っている。見よ、わたしは、あなたの前に、だれも閉じることのできない門を開いておいた。なぜなら、あなたには少ししか力がなかったにもかかわらず、わたしの言葉を守り、わたしの名を否まなかったからである。
3 9 Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie--indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. 見よ、サタンの会堂に属する者、すなわち、ユダヤ人と自称してはいるが、その実ユダヤ人でなくて、偽る者たちに、こうしよう。見よ、彼らがあなたの足もとにきて平伏するようにし、そして、わたしがあなたを愛していることを、彼らに知らせよう。
3 10Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. 忍耐についてのわたしの言葉をあなたが守ったから、わたしも、地上に住む者たちをためすために、全世界に臨もうとしている試錬の時に、あなたを防ぎ守ろう。
3 11 Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. わたしは、すぐに来る。あなたの冠がだれにも奪われないように、自分の持っているものを堅く守っていなさい。
3 12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. And I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name. 勝利を得る者を、わたしの神の聖所における柱にしよう。彼は決して二度と外へ出ることはない。そして彼の上に、わたしの神の御名と、わたしの神の都、すなわち、天とわたしの神のみもとから下ってくる新しいエルサレムの名と、わたしの新しい名とを、書きつけよう。
3 13 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." ' 耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい』。
3 14 "And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write,'These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: ラオデキヤにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『アァメンたる者、忠実な、まことの証人、神に造られたものの根源であるかたが、次のように言われる。
3 15 I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. わたしはあなたのわざを知っている。あなたは冷たくもなく、熱くもない。むしろ、冷たいか熱いかであってほしい。
3 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. このように、熱くもなく、冷たくもなく、なまぬるいので、あなたを口から吐き出そう。
3 17 Because you say, 'I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing'--and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked-- あなたは、自分は富んでいる。豊かになった、なんの不自由もないと言っているが、実は、あなた自身がみじめな者、あわれむべき者、貧しい者、目の見えない者、裸な者であることに気がついていない。
3 18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. そこで、あなたに勧める。富む者となるために、わたしから火で精錬された金を買い、また、あなたの裸の恥をさらさないため身に着けるように、白い衣を買いなさい。また、見えるようになるため、目にぬる目薬を買いなさい。
3 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. すべてわたしの愛している者を、わたしはしかったり、懲らしめたりする。だから、熱心になって悔い改めなさい。
3 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. 見よ、わたしは戸の外に立って、たたいている。だれでもわたしの声を聞いて戸をあけるなら、わたしはその中にはいって彼と食を共にし、彼もまたわたしと食を共にするであろう。
3 21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 勝利を得る者には、わたしと共にわたしの座につかせよう。それはちょうど、わたしが勝利を得てわたしの父と共にその御座についたのと同様である。
3 22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." ' " 耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい』」。

4 1 After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, "Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this." その後、わたしが見ていると、見よ、開いた門が天にあった。そして、さきにラッパのような声でわたしに呼びかけるのを聞いた初めの声が、「ここに上ってきなさい。そうしたら、これから後に起るべきことを、見せてあげよう」と言った。
4 2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. すると、たちまち、わたしは御霊に感じた。見よ、御座が天に設けられており、その御座にいますかたがあった。
4 3 And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald. その座にいますかたは、碧玉や赤めのうのように見え、また、御座のまわりには、緑玉のように見えるにじが現れていた。
4 4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads. また、御座のまわりには二十四の座があって、二十四人の長老が白い衣を身にまとい、頭に金の冠をかぶって、それらの座についていた。
4 5 And from the throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices. Seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. 御座からは、いなずまと、もろもろの声と、雷鳴とが、発していた。また、七つのともし火が、御座の前で燃えていた。これらは、神の七つの霊である。
4 6 Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back. 御座の前は、水晶に似たガラスの海のようであった。御座のそば近くそのまわりには、四つの生き物がいたが、その前にも後にも、一面に目がついていた。
4 7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle. 第一の生き物はししのようであり、第二の生き物は雄牛のようであり、第三の生き物は人のような顔をしており、第四の生き物は飛ぶわしのようであった。
4 8 The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!" この四つの生き物には、それぞれ六つの翼があり、その翼のまわりも内側も目で満ちていた。そして、昼も夜も、絶え間なくこう叫びつづけていた、「聖なるかな、聖なるかな、聖なるかな、全能者にして主なる神。昔いまし、今いまし、やがてきたるべき者」。
4 9 Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, これらの生き物が、御座にいまし、かつ、世々限りなく生きておられるかたに、栄光とほまれとを帰し、また、感謝をささげている時、
4 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: 二十四人の長老は、御座にいますかたのみまえにひれ伏し、世々限りなく生きておられるかたを拝み、彼らの冠を御座のまえに、投げ出して言った、
4 11 "You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created." 「われらの主なる神よ、あなたこそは、栄光とほまれと力とを受けるにふさわしいかた。あなたは万物を造られました。御旨によって、万物は存在し、また造られたのであります」。
ヨハネの黙示録 Revelation 5 5
5 1 And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. わたしはまた、御座にいますかたの右の手に、巻物があるのを見た。その内側にも外側にも字が書いてあって、七つの封印で封じてあった。
5 2 Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?" また、ひとりの強い御使が、大声で、「その巻物を開き、封印をとくのにふさわしい者は、だれか」と呼ばわっているのを見た。
5 3 And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. しかし、天にも地にも地の下にも、この巻物を開いて、それを見ることのできる者は、ひとりもいなかった。
5 4 So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it. 巻物を開いてそれを見るのにふさわしい者が見当らないので、わたしは激しく泣いていた。
5 5 But one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals." すると、長老のひとりがわたしに言った、「泣くな。見よ、ユダ族のしし、ダビデの若枝であるかたが、勝利を得たので、その巻物を開き七つの封印を解くことができる」。
5 6 And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. わたしはまた、御座と四つの生き物との間、長老たちの間に、ほふられたとみえる小羊が立っているのを見た。それに七つの角と七つの目とがあった。これらの目は、全世界につかわされた、神の七つの霊である。
5 7 Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. 小羊は進み出て、御座にいますかたの右の手から、巻物を受けとった。
5 8 Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 巻物を受けとった時、四つの生き物と二十四人の長老とは、おのおの、立琴と、香の満ちている金の鉢とを手に持って、小羊の前にひれ伏した。この香は聖徒の祈である。
5 9 And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 彼らは新しい歌を歌って言った、「あなたこそは、その巻物を受けとり、封印を解くにふさわしいかたであります。あなたはほふられ、その血によって、神のために、あらゆる部族、国語、民族、国民の中から人々をあがない、
5 10 And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth." わたしたちの神のために、彼らを御国の民とし、祭司となさいました。彼らは地上を支配するに至るでしょう」。
5 11 Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, さらに見ていると、御座と生き物と長老たちとのまわりに、多くの御使たちの声が上がるのを聞いた。その数は万の幾万倍、千の幾千倍もあって、
5 12 saying with a loud voice: "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!" 大声で叫んでいた、「ほふられた小羊こそは、力と、富と、知恵と、勢いと、ほまれと、栄光と、さんびとを受けるにふさわしい」。
5 13 And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: "Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!" またわたしは、天と地、地の下と海の中にあるすべての造られたもの、そして、それらの中にあるすべてのものの言う声を聞いた、「御座にいますかたと小羊とに、さんびと、ほまれと、栄光と、権力とが、世々限りなくあるように」。
5 14 Then the four living creatures said, "Amen!" And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever. 四つの生き物はアァメンと唱え、長老たちはひれ伏して礼拝した。

6 1 Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, "Come and see." 小羊がその七つの封印の一つを解いた時、わたしが見ていると、四つの生き物の一つが、雷のような声で「きたれ」と呼ぶのを聞いた。
6 2 And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer. そして見ていると、見よ、白い馬が出てきた。そして、それに乗っている者は、弓を手に持っており、また冠を与えられて、勝利の上にもなお勝利を得ようとして出かけた。
6 3 When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, "Come and see." 小羊が第二の封印を解いた時、第二の生き物が「きたれ」と言うのを、わたしは聞いた。
6 4 Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword. すると今度は、赤い馬が出てきた。そして、それに乗っている者は、人々が互に殺し合うようになるために、地上から平和を奪い取ることを許され、また、大きなつるぎを与えられた。
6 5 When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come and see." So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. また、第三の封印を解いた時、第三の生き物が「きたれ」と言うのを、わたしは聞いた。そこで見ていると、見よ、黒い馬が出てきた。そして、それに乗っている者は、はかりを手に持っていた。
6 6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine." すると、わたしは四つの生き物の間から出て来ると思われる声が、こう言うのを聞いた、「小麦一ますは一デナリ。大麦三ますも一デナリ。オリブ油とぶどう酒とを、そこなうな」。
6 7 When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, "Come and see." 小羊が第四の封印を解いた時、第四の生き物が「きたれ」と言う声を、わたしは聞いた。
6 8 So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth. そこで見ていると、見よ、青白い馬が出てきた。そして、それに乗っている者の名は「死」と言い、それに黄泉が従っていた。彼らには、地の四分の一を支配する権威、および、つるぎと、ききんと、死と、地の獣らとによって人を殺す権威とが、与えられた。
6 9 When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. 小羊が第五の封印を解いた時、神の言のゆえに、また、そのあかしを立てたために、殺された人々の霊魂が、祭壇の下にいるのを、わたしは見た。
6 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?" 彼らは大声で叫んで言った、「聖なる、まことなる主よ。いつまであなたは、さばくことをなさらず、また地に住む者に対して、わたしたちの血の報復をなさらないのですか」。
6 11 Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed. すると、彼らのひとりびとりに白い衣が与えられ、それから、「彼らと同じく殺されようとする僕仲間や兄弟たちの数が満ちるまで、もうしばらくの間、休んでいるように」と言い渡された。
6 12 I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. 小羊が第六の封印を解いた時、わたしが見ていると、大地震が起って、太陽は毛織の荒布のように黒くなり、月は全面、血のようになり、
6 13 And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. 天の星は、いちじくのまだ青い実が大風に揺られて振り落されるように、地に落ちた。
6 14 Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. 天は巻物が巻かれるように消えていき、すべての山と島とはその場所から移されてしまった。
6 15 And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, 地の王たち、高官、千卒長、富める者、勇者、奴隷、自由人らはみな、ほら穴や山の岩かげに、身をかくした。
6 16 and said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! そして、山と岩とにむかって言った、「さあ、われわれをおおって、御座にいますかたの御顔と小羊の怒りとから、かくまってくれ。
6 17 For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?" 御怒りの大いなる日が、すでにきたのだ。だれが、その前に立つことができようか」。

7 1 After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree. この後、わたしは四人の御使が地の四すみに立っているのを見た。彼らは地の四方の風をひき止めて、地にも海にもすべての木にも、吹きつけないようにしていた。
7 2 Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, また、もうひとりの御使が、生ける神の印を持って、日の出る方から上って来るのを見た。彼は地と海とをそこなう権威を授かっている四人の御使にむかって、大声で叫んで言った、
7 3 saying, "Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads." 「わたしたちの神の僕らの額に、わたしたちが印をおしてしまうまでは、地と海と木とをそこなってはならない」。
7 4 And I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed: わたしは印をおされた者の数を聞いたが、イスラエルの子らのすべての部族のうち、印をおされた者は十四万四千人であった。
7 5 of the tribe of Judah twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Gad twelve thousand were sealed; ユダの部族のうち、一万二千人が印をおされ、ルベンの部族のうち、一万二千人、ガドの部族のうち、一万二千人、
7 6 of the tribe of Asher twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand were sealed; アセルの部族のうち、一万二千人、ナフタリ部族のうち、一万二千人、マナセの部族のうち、一万二千人、
7 7 of the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Levi twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand were sealed; シメオンの部族のうち、一万二千人、レビの部族のうち、一万二千人、イサカルの部族のうち、一万二千人、
7 8 of the tribe of Zebulun twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Joseph twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Benjamin twelve thousand were sealed. ゼブルンの部族のうち、一万二千人、ヨセフの部族のうち、一万二千人、ベニヤミンの部族のうち、一万二千人が印をおされた。
7 9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, その後、わたしが見ていると、見よ、あらゆる国民、部族、民族、国語のうちから、数えきれないほどの大ぜいの群衆が、白い衣を身にまとい、しゅろの枝を手に持って、御座と小羊との前に立ち、
7 10 and crying out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!" 大声で叫んで言った、「救は、御座にいますわれらの神と／小羊からきたる」。
7 11 All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 御使たちはみな、御座と長老たちと四つの生き物とのまわりに立っていたが、御座の前にひれ伏し、神を拝して言った、
7 12 saying: "Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, Thanksgiving and honor and power and might, Be to our God forever and ever. Amen." 「アァメン、さんび、栄光、知恵、感謝、ほまれ、力、勢いが、世々限りなく、われらの神にあるように、アァメン」。
7 13 Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, "Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?" 長老たちのひとりが、わたしにむかって言った、「この白い衣を身にまとっている人々は、だれか。また、どこからきたのか」。
7 14 And I said to him, "Sir, you know." So he said to me, "These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. わたしは彼に答えた、「わたしの主よ、それはあなたがご存じです」。すると、彼はわたしに言った、「彼らは大きな患難をとおってきた人たちであって、その衣を小羊の血で洗い、それを白くしたのである。
7 15 Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them. それだから彼らは、神の御座の前におり、昼も夜もその聖所で神に仕えているのである。御座にいますかたは、彼らの上に幕屋を張って共に住まわれるであろう。
7 16 They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; 彼らは、もはや飢えることがなく、かわくこともない。太陽も炎暑も、彼らを侵すことはない。
7 17 for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes." 御座の正面にいます小羊は彼らの牧者となって、いのちの水の泉に導いて下さるであろう。また神は、彼らの目から涙をことごとくぬぐいとって下さるであろう」。

8 1 When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. 小羊が第七の封印を解いた時、半時間ばかり天に静けさがあった。
8 2 And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets. それからわたしは、神のみまえに立っている七人の御使を見た。そして、七つのラッパが彼らに与えられた。
8 3 Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. また、別の御使が出てきて、金の香炉を手に持って祭壇の前に立った。たくさんの香が彼に与えられていたが、これは、すべての聖徒の祈に加えて、御座の前の金の祭壇の上にささげるためのものであった。
8 4And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel's hand. 香の煙は、御使の手から、聖徒たちの祈と共に神のみまえに立ちのぼった。
8 5 Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake. 御使はその香炉をとり、これに祭壇の火を満たして、地に投げつけた。すると、多くの雷鳴と、もろもろの声と、いなずまと、地震とが起った。
8 6 So the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound. そこで、七つのラッパを持っている七人の御使が、それを吹く用意をした。
8 7 The first angel sounded: And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. And a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up. 第一の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、血のまじった雹と火とがあらわれて、地上に降ってきた。そして、地の三分の一が焼け、木の三分の一が焼け、また、すべての青草も焼けてしまった。
8 8 Then the second angel sounded: And something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood. 第二の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、火の燃えさかっている大きな山のようなものが、海に投げ込まれた。そして、海の三分の一は血となり、
8 9 And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed. 海の中の造られた生き物の三分の一は死に、舟の三分の一がこわされてしまった。
8 10 Then the third angel sounded: And a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 第三の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、たいまつのように燃えている大きな星が、空から落ちてきた。そしてそれは、川の三分の一とその水源との上に落ちた。
8 11 The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter. この星の名は「苦よもぎ」と言い、水の三分の一が「苦よもぎ」のように苦くなった。水が苦くなったので、そのために多くの人が死んだ。
8 12 Then the fourth angel sounded: And a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. A third of the day did not shine, and likewise the night. 第四の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、太陽の三分の一と、月の三分の一と、星の三分の一とが打たれて、これらのものの三分の一は暗くなり、昼の三分の一は明るくなくなり、夜も同じようになった。
8 13 And I looked, and I heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, "Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound!" また、わたしが見ていると、一羽のわしが中空を飛び、大きな声でこう言うのを聞いた、「ああ、わざわいだ、わざわいだ、地に住む人々は、わざわいだ。なお三人の御使がラッパを吹き鳴らそうとしている」。

9 1 Then the fifth angel sounded: And I saw a star fallen from heaven to the earth. To him was given the key to the bottomless pit. 第五の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。するとわたしは、一つの星が天から地に落ちて来るのを見た。この星に、底知れぬ所の穴を開くかぎが与えられた。
9 2 And he opened the bottomless pit, and smoke arose out of the pit like the smoke of a great furnace. So the sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke of the pit. そして、この底知れぬ所の穴が開かれた。すると、その穴から煙が大きな炉の煙のように立ちのぼり、その穴の煙で、太陽も空気も暗くなった。
9 3 Then out of the smoke locusts came upon the earth. And to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. その煙の中から、いなごが地上に出てきたが、地のさそりが持っているような力が、彼らに与えられた。
9 4 They were commanded not to harm the grass of the earth, or any green thing, or any tree, but only those men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. 彼らは、地の草やすべての青草、またすべての木をそこなってはならないが、額に神の印がない人たちには害を加えてもよいと、言い渡された。
9 5 And they were not given authority to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a man. 彼らは、人間を殺すことはしないで、五か月のあいだ苦しめることだけが許された。彼らの与える苦痛は、人がさそりにさされる時のような苦痛であった。
9 6 In those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will desire to die, and death will flee from them. その時には、人々は死を求めても与えられず、死にたいと願っても、死は逃げて行くのである。
9 7 The shape of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle. On their heads were crowns of something like gold, and their faces were like the faces of men. これらのいなごは、出陣の用意のととのえられた馬によく似ており、その頭には金の冠のようなものをつけ、その顔は人間の顔のようであり、
9 8 They had hair like women's hair, and their teeth were like lions' teeth. また、そのかみの毛は女のかみのようであり、その歯はししの歯のようであった。
9 9 And they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots with many horses running into battle. また、鉄の胸当のような胸当をつけており、その羽の音は、馬に引かれて戦場に急ぐ多くの戦車の響きのようであった。
9 10 They had tails like scorpions, and there were stings in their tails. Their power was to hurt men five months. その上、さそりのような尾と針とを持っている。その尾には、五か月のあいだ人間をそこなう力がある。
9 11 And they had as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, but in Greek he has the name Apollyon. 彼らは、底知れぬ所の使を王にいただいており、その名をヘブル語でアバドンと言い、ギリシヤ語ではアポルオンと言う。
9 12 One woe is past. Behold, still two more woes are coming after these things. 第一のわざわいは、過ぎ去った。見よ、この後、なお二つのわざわいが来る。
9 13 Then the sixth angel sounded: And I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 第六の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、一つの声が、神のみまえにある金の祭壇の四つの角から出て、
9 14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates." ラッパを持っている第六の御使にこう呼びかけるのを、わたしは聞いた。「大ユウフラテ川のほとりにつながれている四人の御使を、解いてやれ」。
9 15 So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind. すると、その時、その日、その月、その年に備えておかれた四人の御使が、人間の三分の一を殺すために、解き放たれた。
9 16 Now the number of the army of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them. 騎兵隊の数は二億であった。わたしはその数を聞いた。
9 17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision: those who sat on them had breastplates of fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow; and the heads of the horses were like the heads of lions; and out of their mouths came fire, smoke, and brimstone. そして、まぼろしの中で、それらの馬とそれに乗っている者たちとを見ると、乗っている者たちは、火の色と青玉色と硫黄の色の胸当をつけていた。そして、それらの馬の頭はししの頭のようであって、その口から火と煙と硫黄とが、出ていた。
9 18 By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed--by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which came out of their mouths. この三つの災害、すなわち、彼らの口から出て来る火と煙と硫黄とによって、人間の三分の一は殺されてしまった。
9 19 For their power is in their mouth and in their tails; for their tails are like serpents, having heads; and with them they do harm. 馬の力はその口と尾とにある。その尾はへびに似ていて、それに頭があり、その頭で人に害を加えるのである。
9 20 But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. これらの災害で殺されずに残った人々は、自分の手で造ったものについて、悔い改めようとせず、また悪霊のたぐいや、金・銀・銅・石・木で造られ、見ることも聞くことも歩くこともできない偶像を礼拝して、やめようともしなかった。
9 21 And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts. また、彼らは、その犯した殺人や、まじないや、不品行や、盗みを悔い改めようとしなかった。

10 1 I saw still another mighty angel coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was on his head, his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire. わたしは、もうひとりの強い御使が、雲に包まれて、天から降りて来るのを見た。その頭に、にじをいただき、その顔は太陽のようで、その足は火の柱のようであった。
10 2 He had a little book open in his hand. And he set his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, 彼は、開かれた小さな巻物を手に持っていた。そして、右足を海の上に、左足を地の上に踏みおろして、
10 3 and cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roars. When he cried out, seven thunders uttered their voices. ししがほえるように大声で叫んだ。彼が叫ぶと、七つの雷がおのおのその声を発した。
10 4 Now when the seven thunders uttered their voices, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, "Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and do not write them." 七つの雷が声を発した時、わたしはそれを書きとめようとした。すると、天から声があって、「七つの雷の語ったことを封印せよ。それを書きとめるな」と言うのを聞いた。
10 5 The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised up his hand to heaven それから、海と地の上に立っているのをわたしが見たあの御使は、天にむけて右手を上げ、
10 6and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer, 天とその中にあるもの、地とその中にあるもの、海とその中にあるものを造り、世々限りなく生きておられるかたをさして誓った、「もう時がない。
10 7 but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets. 第七の御使が吹き鳴らすラッパの音がする時には、神がその僕、預言者たちにお告げになったとおり、神の奥義は成就される」。
10 8 Then the voice which I heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, "Go, take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the earth." すると、前に天から聞えてきた声が、またわたしに語って言った、「さあ行って、海と地との上に立っている御使の手に開かれている巻物を、受け取りなさい」。
10 9 So I went to the angel and said to him, "Give me the little book." And he said to me, "Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth." そこで、わたしはその御使のもとに行って、「その小さな巻物を下さい」と言った。すると、彼は言った、「取って、それを食べてしまいなさい。あなたの腹には苦いが、口には蜜のように甘い」。
10 10 Then I took the little book out of the angel's hand and ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth. But when I had eaten it, my stomach became bitter. わたしは御使の手からその小さな巻物を受け取って食べてしまった。すると、わたしの口には蜜のように甘かったが、それを食べたら、腹が苦くなった。
10 11 And he said to me, "You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings." その時、「あなたは、もう一度、多くの民族、国民、国語、王たちについて、預言せねばならない」と言う声がした。

11 1 Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, "Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there. それから、わたしはつえのような測りざおを与えられて、こう命じられた、「さあ立って、神の聖所と祭壇と、そこで礼拝している人々とを、測りなさい。
11 2 But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months. 聖所の外の庭はそのままにしておきなさい。それを測ってはならない。そこは異邦人に与えられた所だから。彼らは、四十二か月の間この聖なる都を踏みにじるであろう。
11 3 And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth." そしてわたしは、わたしのふたりの証人に、荒布を着て、千二百六十日のあいだ預言することを許そう」。
11 4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth. 彼らは、全地の主のみまえに立っている二本のオリブの木、また、二つの燭台である。
11 5 And if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner. もし彼らに害を加えようとする者があれば、彼らの口から火が出て、その敵を滅ぼすであろう。もし彼らに害を加えようとする者があれば、その者はこのように殺されねばならない。
11 6These have power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy; and they have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they desire. 預言をしている期間、彼らは、天を閉じて雨を降らせないようにする力を持っている。さらにまた、水を血に変え、何度でも思うままに、あらゆる災害で地を打つ力を持っている。
11 7 When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them. そして、彼らがそのあかしを終えると、底知れぬ所からのぼって来る獣が、彼らと戦って打ち勝ち、彼らを殺す。
11 8 And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. 彼らの死体はソドムや、エジプトにたとえられている大いなる都の大通りにさらされる。彼らの主も、この都で十字架につけられたのである。
11 9 Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves. いろいろな民族、部族、国語、国民に属する人々が、三日半の間、彼らの死体をながめるが、その死体を墓に納めることは許さない。
11 10 And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth. 地に住む人々は、彼らのことで喜び楽しみ、互に贈り物をしあう。このふたりの預言者は、地に住む者たちを悩ましたからである。
11 11 Now after the three-and-a-half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. 三日半の後、いのちの息が、神から出て彼らの中にはいり、そして、彼らが立ち上がったので、それを見た人々は非常な恐怖に襲われた。
11 12 And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here." And they ascended to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies saw them. その時、天から大きな声がして、「ここに上ってきなさい」と言うのを、彼らは聞いた。そして、彼らは雲に乗って天に上った。彼らの敵はそれを見た。
11 13 In the same hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. In the earthquake seven thousand people were killed, and the rest were afraid and gave glory to the God of heaven. この時、大地震が起って、都の十分の一は倒れ、その地震で七千人が死に、生き残った人々は驚き恐れて、天の神に栄光を帰した。
11 14 The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe is coming quickly. 第二のわざわいは、過ぎ去った。見よ、第三のわざわいがすぐに来る。
11 15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!" 第七の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、大きな声々が天に起って言った、「この世の国は、われらの主とそのキリストとの国となった。主は世々限りなく支配なさるであろう」。
11 16 And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, そして、神のみまえで座についている二十四人の長老は、ひれ伏し、神を拝して言った、
11 17 saying: "We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your great power and reigned. 「今いまし、昔いませる、全能者にして主なる神よ。大いなる御力をふるって支配なさったことを、感謝します。
11 18 The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and great, And should destroy those who destroy the earth." 諸国民は怒り狂いましたが、あなたも怒りをあらわされました。そして、死人をさばき、あなたの僕なる／預言者、聖徒、小さき者も、大いなる者も、すべて御名をおそれる者たちに報いを与え、また、地を滅ぼす者どもを滅ぼして下さる時がきました」。
11 19 Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail. そして、天にある神の聖所が開けて、聖所の中に契約の箱が見えた。また、いなずまと、もろもろの声と、雷鳴と、地震とが起り、大粒の雹が降った。

12 1 Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars. また、大いなるしるしが天に現れた。ひとりの女が太陽を着て、足の下に月を踏み、その頭に十二の星の冠をかぶっていた。
12 2 Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth. この女は子を宿しており、産みの苦しみと悩みとのために、泣き叫んでいた。
12 3 And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. また、もう一つのしるしが天に現れた。見よ、大きな、赤い龍がいた。それに七つの頭と十の角とがあり、その頭に七つの冠をかぶっていた。
12 4 His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born. その尾は天の星の三分の一を掃き寄せ、それらを地に投げ落した。龍は子を産もうとしている女の前に立ち、生れたなら、その子を食い尽そうとかまえていた。
12 5 She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne. 女は男の子を産んだが、彼は鉄のつえをもってすべての国民を治めるべき者である。この子は、神のみもとに、その御座のところに、引き上げられた。
12 6 Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days. 女は荒野へ逃げて行った。そこには、彼女が千二百六十日のあいだ養われるように、神の用意された場所があった。
12 7 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, さて、天では戦いが起った。ミカエルとその御使たちとが、龍と戦ったのである。龍もその使たちも応戦したが、
12 8 but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. 勝てなかった。そして、もはや天には彼らのおる所がなくなった。
12 9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. この巨大な龍、すなわち、悪魔とか、サタンとか呼ばれ、全世界を惑わす年を経たへびは、地に投げ落され、その使たちも、もろともに投げ落された。
12 10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. その時わたしは、大きな声が天でこう言うのを聞いた、「今や、われらの神の救と力と国と、神のキリストの権威とは、現れた。われらの兄弟らを訴える者、夜昼われらの神のみまえで彼らを訴える者は、投げ落された。
12 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. 兄弟たちは、小羊の血と彼らのあかしの言葉とによって、彼にうち勝ち、死に至るまでもそのいのちを惜しまなかった。
12 12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time." それゆえに、天とその中に住む者たちよ、大いに喜べ。しかし、地と海よ、おまえたちはわざわいである。悪魔が、自分の時が短いのを知り、激しい怒りをもって、おまえたちのところに下ってきたからである」。
12 13 Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child. 龍は、自分が地上に投げ落されたと知ると、男子を産んだ女を追いかけた。
12 14 But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. しかし、女は自分の場所である荒野に飛んで行くために、大きなわしの二つの翼を与えられた。そしてそこでへびからのがれて、一年、二年、また、半年の間、養われることになっていた。
12 15 So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. へびは女の後に水を川のように、口から吐き出して、女をおし流そうとした。
12 16 But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. しかし、地は女を助けた。すなわち、地はその口を開いて、龍が口から吐き出した川を飲みほした。
12 17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. 龍は、女に対して怒りを発し、女の残りの子ら、すなわち、神の戒めを守り、イエスのあかしを持っている者たちに対して、戦いをいどむために、出て行った。

13 1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. わたしはまた、一匹の獣が海から上って来るのを見た。それには角が十本、頭が七つあり、それらの角には十の冠があって、頭には神を汚す名がついていた。
13 2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. わたしの見たこの獣はひょうに似ており、その足はくまの足のようで、その口はししの口のようであった。龍は自分の力と位と大いなる権威とを、この獣に与えた。
13 3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. その頭の一つが、死ぬほどの傷を受けたが、その致命的な傷もなおってしまった。そこで、全地の人々は驚きおそれて、その獣に従い、
13 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?" また、龍がその権威を獣に与えたので、人々は龍を拝み、さらに、その獣を拝んで言った、「だれが、この獣に匹敵し得ようか。だれが、これと戦うことができようか」。
13 5 And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. この獣には、また、大言を吐き汚しごとを語る口が与えられ、四十二か月のあいだ活動する権威が与えられた。
13 6 Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. そこで、彼は口を開いて神を汚し、神の御名と、その幕屋、すなわち、天に住む者たちとを汚した。
13 7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. そして彼は、聖徒に戦いをいどんでこれに勝つことを許され、さらに、すべての部族、民族、国語、国民を支配する権威を与えられた。
13 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. 地に住む者で、ほふられた小羊のいのちの書に、その名を世の初めからしるされていない者はみな、この獣を拝むであろう。
13 9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 耳のある者は、聞くがよい。
13 10 He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. とりこになるべき者は、とりこになっていく。つるぎで殺す者は、自らもつるぎで殺されねばならない。ここに、聖徒たちの忍耐と信仰とがある。
13 11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. わたしはまた、ほかの獣が地から上って来るのを見た。それには小羊のような角が二つあって、龍のように物を言った。
13 12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. そして、先の獣の持つすべての権力をその前で働かせた。また、地と地に住む人々に、致命的な傷がいやされた先の獣を拝ませた。
13 13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. また、大いなるしるしを行って、人々の前で火を天から地に降らせることさえした。
13 14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. さらに、先の獣の前で行うのを許されたしるしで、地に住む人々を惑わし、かつ、つるぎの傷を受けてもなお生きている先の獣の像を造ることを、地に住む人々に命じた。
13 15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. それから、その獣の像に息を吹き込んで、その獣の像が物を言うことさえできるようにし、また、その獣の像を拝まない者をみな殺させた。
13 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, また、小さき者にも、大いなる者にも、富める者にも、貧しき者にも、自由人にも、奴隷にも、すべての人々に、その右の手あるいは額に刻印を押させ、
13 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. この刻印のない者はみな、物を買うことも売ることもできないようにした。この刻印は、その獣の名、または、その名の数字のことである。
13 18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. ここに、知恵が必要である。思慮のある者は、獣の数字を解くがよい。その数字とは、人間をさすものである。そして、その数字は六百六十六である。

14 1 Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father's name written on their foreheads. なお、わたしが見ていると、見よ、小羊がシオンの山に立っていた。また、十四万四千の人々が小羊と共におり、その額に小羊の名とその父の名とが書かれていた。
14 2 And I heard a voice from heaven, like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder. And I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps. またわたしは、大水のとどろきのような、激しい雷鳴のような声が、天から出るのを聞いた。わたしの聞いたその声は、琴をひく人が立琴をひく音のようでもあった。
14 3 They sang as it were a new song before the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth. 彼らは、御座の前、四つの生き物と長老たちとの前で、新しい歌を歌った。この歌は、地からあがなわれた十四万四千人のほかは、だれも学ぶことができなかった。
14 4These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, being firstfruits to God and to the Lamb. 彼らは、女にふれたことのない者である。彼らは、純潔な者である。そして、小羊の行く所へは、どこへでもついて行く。彼らは、神と小羊とにささげられる初穂として、人間の中からあがなわれた者である。
14 5 And in their mouth was found no deceit, for they are without fault before the throne of God. 彼らの口には偽りがなく、彼らは傷のない者であった。
14 6 Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth--to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people-- わたしは、もうひとりの御使が中空を飛ぶのを見た。彼は地に住む者、すなわち、あらゆる国民、部族、国語、民族に宣べ伝えるために、永遠の福音をたずさえてきて、
14 7 saying with a loud voice, "Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water." 大声で言った、「神をおそれ、神に栄光を帰せよ。神のさばきの時がきたからである。天と地と海と水の源とを造られたかたを、伏し拝め」。
14 8 And another angel followed, saying, "Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication." また、ほかの第二の御使が、続いてきて言った、「倒れた、大いなるバビロンは倒れた。その不品行に対する激しい怒りのぶどう酒を、あらゆる国民に飲ませた者」。
14 9 Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, ほかの第三の御使が彼らに続いてきて、大声で言った、「おおよそ、獣とその像とを拝み、額や手に刻印を受ける者は、
14 10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 神の怒りの杯に混ぜものなしに盛られた、神の激しい怒りのぶどう酒を飲み、聖なる御使たちと小羊との前で、火と硫黄とで苦しめられる。
14 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name." その苦しみの煙は世々限りなく立ちのぼり、そして、獣とその像とを拝む者、また、だれでもその名の刻印を受けている者は、昼も夜も休みが得られない。
14 12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. ここに、神の戒めを守り、イエスを信じる信仰を持ちつづける聖徒の忍耐がある」。
14 13 Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, "Write: 'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.' " "Yes," says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them." またわたしは、天からの声がこう言うのを聞いた、「書きしるせ、『今から後、主にあって死ぬ死人はさいわいである』」。御霊も言う、「しかり、彼らはその労苦を解かれて休み、そのわざは彼らについていく」。
14 14 Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. また見ていると、見よ、白い雲があって、その雲の上に人の子のような者が座しており、頭には金の冠をいただき、手には鋭いかまを持っていた。
14 15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, "Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe." すると、もうひとりの御使が聖所から出てきて、雲の上に座している者にむかって大声で叫んだ、「かまを入れて刈り取りなさい。地の穀物は全く実り、刈り取るべき時がきた」。
14 16 So He who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped. 雲の上に座している者は、そのかまを地に投げ入れた。すると、地のものが刈り取られた。
14 17 Then another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. また、もうひとりの御使が、天の聖所から出てきたが、彼もまた鋭いかまを持っていた。
14 18 And another angel came out from the altar, who had power over fire, and he cried with a loud cry to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, "Thrust in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, for her grapes are fully ripe." さらに、もうひとりの御使で、火を支配する権威を持っている者が、祭壇から出てきて、鋭いかまを持つ御使にむかい、大声で言った、「その鋭いかまを地に入れて、地のぶどうのふさを刈り集めなさい。ぶどうの実がすでに熟しているから」。
14 19 So the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. そこで、御使はそのかまを地に投げ入れて、地のぶどうを刈り集め、神の激しい怒りの大きな酒ぶねに投げ込んだ。
14 20 And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses' bridles, for one thousand six hundred furlongs. そして、その酒ぶねが都の外で踏まれた。すると、血が酒ぶねから流れ出て、馬のくつわにとどくほどになり、一千六百丁にわたってひろがった。
ヨハネの黙示録 Revelation 15 15
15 1 Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous: seven angels having the seven last plagues, for in them the wrath of God is complete. またわたしは、天に大いなる驚くべきほかのしるしを見た。七人の御使が、最後の七つの災害を携えていた。これらの災害で神の激しい怒りがその頂点に達するのである。
15 2 And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those who have the victory over the beast, over his image and over his mark and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God. またわたしは、火のまじったガラスの海のようなものを見た。そして、このガラスの海のそばに、獣とその像とその名の数字とにうち勝った人々が、神の立琴を手にして立っているのを見た。
15 3 They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: "Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints! 彼らは、神の僕モーセの歌と小羊の歌とを歌って言った、「全能者にして主なる神よ。あなたのみわざは、大いなる、また驚くべきものであります。万民の王よ、あなたの道は正しく、かつ真実であります。
15 4 Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, For Your judgments have been manifested." 主よ、あなたをおそれず、御名をほめたたえない者が、ありましょうか。あなただけが聖なるかたであり、あらゆる国民はきて、あなたを伏し拝むでしょう。あなたの正しいさばきが、あらわれるに至ったからであります」。
15 5 After these things I looked, and behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened. その後、わたしが見ていると、天にある、あかしの幕屋の聖所が開かれ、
15 6 And out of the temple came the seven angels having the seven plagues, clothed in pure bright linen, and having their chests girded with golden bands. その聖所から、七つの災害を携えている七人の御使が、汚れのない、光り輝く亜麻布を身にまとい、金の帯を胸にしめて、出てきた。
15 7 Then one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God who lives forever and ever. そして、四つの生き物の一つが、世々限りなく生きておられる神の激しい怒りの満ちた七つの金の鉢を、七人の御使に渡した。
15 8 The temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power, and no one was able to enter the temple till the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed. すると、聖所は神の栄光とその力とから立ちのぼる煙で満たされ、七人の御使の七つの災害が終ってしまうまでは、だれも聖所にはいることができなかった。
ヨハネの黙示録 Revelation 16 16
16 1 Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, "Go and pour out the bowls of the wrath of God on the earth." それから、大きな声が聖所から出て、七人の御使にむかい、「さあ行って、神の激しい怒りの七つの鉢を、地に傾けよ」と言うのを聞いた。
16 2 So the first went and poured out his bowl upon the earth, and a foul and loathsome sore came upon the men who had the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. そして、第一の者が出て行って、その鉢を地に傾けた。すると、獣の刻印を持つ人々と、その像を拝む人々とのからだに、ひどい悪性のでき物ができた。
16 3 Then the second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it became blood as of a dead man; and every living creature in the sea died. 第二の者が、その鉢を海に傾けた。すると、海は死人の血のようになって、その中の生き物がみな死んでしまった。
16 4 Then the third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood. 第三の者がその鉢を川と水の源とに傾けた。すると、みな血になった。
16 5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying: "You are righteous, O Lord, The One who is and who was and who is to be, Because You have judged these things. それから、水をつかさどる御使がこう言うのを、聞いた、「今いまし、昔いませる聖なる者よ。このようにお定めになったあなたは、正しいかたであります。
16 6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, And You have given them blood to drink. For it is their just due." 聖徒と預言者との血を流した者たちに、血をお飲ませになりましたが、それは当然のことであります」。
16 7 And I heard another from the altar saying, "Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments." わたしはまた祭壇がこう言うのを聞いた、「全能者にして主なる神よ。しかり、あなたのさばきは真実で、かつ正しいさばきであります」。
16 8 Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. 第四の者が、その鉢を太陽に傾けた。すると、太陽は火で人々を焼くことを許された。
16 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory. 人々は、激しい炎熱で焼かれたが、これらの災害を支配する神の御名を汚し、悔い改めて神に栄光を帰することをしなかった。
16 10 Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues because of the pain. 第五の者が、その鉢を獣の座に傾けた。すると、獣の国は暗くなり、人々は苦痛のあまり舌をかみ、
16 11 They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds. その苦痛とでき物とのゆえに、天の神をのろった。そして、自分の行いを悔い改めなかった。
16 12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. 第六の者が、その鉢を大ユウフラテ川に傾けた。すると、その水は、日の出る方から来る王たちに対し道を備えるために、かれてしまった。
16 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. また見ると、龍の口から、獣の口から、にせ預言者の口から、かえるのような三つの汚れた霊が出てきた。
16 14For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. これらは、しるしを行う悪霊の霊であって、全世界の王たちのところに行き、彼らを召集したが、それは、全能なる神の大いなる日に、戦いをするためであった。
16 15 "Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame." （見よ、わたしは盗人のように来る。裸のままで歩かないように、また、裸の恥を見られないように、目をさまし着物を身に着けている者は、さいわいである。）
16 16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon. 三つの霊は、ヘブル語でハルマゲドンという所に、王たちを召集した。
16 17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, "It is done!" 第七の者が、その鉢を空中に傾けた。すると、大きな声が聖所の中から、御座から出て、「事はすでに成った」と言った。
16 18And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth. すると、いなずまと、もろもろの声と、雷鳴とが起り、また激しい地震があった。それは人間が地上にあらわれて以来、かつてなかったようなもので、それほどに激しい地震であった。
16 19 Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath. 大いなる都は三つに裂かれ、諸国民の町々は倒れた。神は大いなるバビロンを思い起し、これに神の激しい怒りのぶどう酒の杯を与えられた。
16 20 Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. 島々はみな逃げ去り、山々は見えなくなった。
16 21 And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great. また一タラントの重さほどの大きな雹が、天から人々の上に降ってきた。人々は、この雹の災害のゆえに神をのろった。その災害が、非常に大きかったからである。

17 1 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, "Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, それから、七つの鉢を持つ七人の御使のひとりがきて、わたしに語って言った、「さあ、きなさい。多くの水の上にすわっている大淫婦に対するさばきを、見せよう。
17 2 with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication." 地の王たちはこの女と姦淫を行い、地に住む人々はこの女の姦淫のぶどう酒に酔いしれている」。
17 3 So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 御使は、わたしを御霊に感じたまま、荒野へ連れて行った。わたしは、そこでひとりの女が赤い獣に乗っているのを見た。その獣は神を汚すかずかずの名でおおわれ、また、それに七つの頭と十の角とがあった。
17 4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. この女は紫と赤の衣をまとい、金と宝石と真珠とで身を飾り、憎むべきものと自分の姦淫の汚れとで満ちている金の杯を手に持ち、
17 5 And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. その額には、一つの名がしるされていた。それは奥義であって、「大いなるバビロン、淫婦どもと地の憎むべきものらとの母」というのであった。
17 6 I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement. わたしは、この女が聖徒の血とイエスの証人の血に酔いしれているのを見た。この女を見た時、わたしは非常に驚きあやしんだ。
17 7 But the angel said to me, "Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns. すると、御使はわたしに言った、「なぜそんなに驚くのか。この女の奥義と、女を乗せている七つの頭と十の角のある獣の奥義とを、話してあげよう。
17 8 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. あなたの見た獣は、昔はいたが、今はおらず、そして、やがて底知れぬ所から上ってきて、ついには滅びに至るものである。地に住む者のうち、世の初めからいのちの書に名をしるされていない者たちは、この獣が、昔はいたが今はおらず、やがて来るのを見て、驚きあやしむであろう。
17 9 Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. ここに、知恵のある心が必要である。七つの頭は、この女のすわっている七つの山であり、また、七人の王のことである。
17 10 There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time. そのうちの五人はすでに倒れ、ひとりは今おり、もうひとりは、まだきていない。それが来れば、しばらくの間だけおることになっている。
17 11 And the beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition. 昔はいたが今はいないという獣は、すなわち第八のものであるが、またそれは、かの七人の中のひとりであって、ついには滅びに至るものである。
17 12 The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. あなたの見た十の角は、十人の王のことであって、彼らはまだ国を受けてはいないが、獣と共に、一時だけ王としての権威を受ける。
17 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. 彼らは心をひとつにしている。そして、自分たちの力と権威とを獣に与える。
17 14 These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful." 彼らは小羊に戦いをいどんでくるが、小羊は、主の主、王の王であるから、彼らにうち勝つ。また、小羊と共にいる召された、選ばれた、忠実な者たちも、勝利を得る」。
17 15 Then he said to me, "The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues. 御使はまた、わたしに言った、「あなたの見た水、すなわち、淫婦のすわっている所は、あらゆる民族、群衆、国民、国語である。
17 16 And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire. あなたの見た十の角と獣とは、この淫婦を憎み、みじめな者にし、裸にし、彼女の肉を食い、火で焼き尽すであろう。
17 17 For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. 神は、御言が成就する時まで、彼らの心の中に、御旨を行い、思いをひとつにし、彼らの支配権を獣に与える思いを持つようにされたからである。
17 18 And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth." あなたの見たかの女は、地の王たちを支配する大いなる都のことである」。

18 1 After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. この後、わたしは、もうひとりの御使が、大いなる権威を持って、天から降りて来るのを見た。地は彼の栄光によって明るくされた。
18 2 And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, "Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! 彼は力強い声で叫んで言った、「倒れた、大いなるバビロンは倒れた。そして、それは悪魔の住む所、あらゆる汚れた霊の巣くつ、また、あらゆる汚れた憎むべき鳥の巣くつとなった。
18 3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury." すべての国民は、彼女の姦淫に対する激しい怒りのぶどう酒を飲み、地の王たちは彼女と姦淫を行い、地上の商人たちは、彼女の極度のぜいたくによって富を得たからである」。
18 4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. わたしはまた、もうひとつの声が天から出るのを聞いた、「わたしの民よ。彼女から離れ去って、その罪にあずからないようにし、その災害に巻き込まれないようにせよ。
18 5 For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. 彼女の罪は積り積って天に達しており、神はその不義の行いを覚えておられる。
18 6 Render to her just as she rendered to you, and repay her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her. 彼女がしたとおりに彼女にし返し、そのしわざに応じて二倍に報復をし、彼女が混ぜて入れた杯の中に、その倍の量を、入れてやれ。
18 7 In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, 'I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.' 彼女が自ら高ぶり、ぜいたくをほしいままにしたので、それに対して、同じほどの苦しみと悲しみとを味わわせてやれ。彼女は心の中で『わたしは女王の位についている者であって、やもめではないのだから、悲しみを知らない』と言っている。
18 8 Therefore her plagues will come in one day--death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her. それゆえ、さまざまの災害が、死と悲しみとききんとが、一日のうちに彼女を襲い、そして、彼女は火で焼かれてしまう。彼女をさばく主なる神は、力強いかたなのである。
18 9 "The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning, 彼女と姦淫を行い、ぜいたくをほしいままにしていた地の王たちは、彼女が焼かれる火の煙を見て、彼女のために胸を打って泣き悲しみ、
18 10 standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.' 彼女の苦しみに恐れをいだき、遠くに立って言うであろう、『ああ、わざわいだ、大いなる都、不落の都、バビロンは、わざわいだ。おまえに対するさばきは、一瞬にしてきた』。
18 11 And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore: また、地の商人たちも彼女のために泣き悲しむ。もはや、彼らの商品を買う者が、ひとりもないからである。
18 12 merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; その商品は、金、銀、宝石、真珠、麻布、紫布、絹、緋布、各種の香木、各種の象牙細工、高価な木材、銅、鉄、大理石などの器、
18 13 and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men. 肉桂、香料、香、におい油、乳香、ぶどう酒、オリブ油、麦粉、麦、牛、羊、馬、車、奴隷、そして人身などである。
18 14 The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the things which are rich and splendid have gone from you, and you shall find them no more at all. おまえの心の喜びであったくだものはなくなり、あらゆるはでな、はなやかな物はおまえから消え去った。それらのものはもはや見られない。
18 15 The merchants of these things, who became rich by her, will stand at a distance for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, これらの品々を売って、彼女から富を得た商人は、彼女の苦しみに恐れをいだいて遠くに立ち、泣き悲しんで言う、
18 16 and saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls! 『ああ、わざわいだ、麻布と紫布と緋布をまとい、金や宝石や真珠で身を飾っていた大いなる都は、わざわいだ。
18 17 For in one hour such great riches came to nothing.' Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance これほどの富が、一瞬にして無に帰してしまうとは』。また、すべての船長、航海者、水夫、すべて海で働いている人たちは、遠くに立ち、
18 18 and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, 'What is like this great city?' 彼女が焼かれる火の煙を見て、叫んで言う、『これほどの大いなる都は、どこにあろう』。
18 19 They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! 18 21 Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, "Thus with violence the great city Babylon shall be thrown down, and shall not be found anymore. すると、ひとりの力強い御使が、大きなひきうすのような石を持ちあげ、それを海に投げ込んで言った、「大いなる都バビロンは、このように激しく打ち倒され、そして、全く姿を消してしまう。
18 22The sound of harpists, musicians, flutists, and trumpeters shall not be heard in you anymore. No craftsman of any craft shall be found in you anymore, and the sound of a millstone shall not be heard in you anymore. また、おまえの中では、立琴をひく者、歌を歌う者、笛を吹く者、ラッパを吹き鳴らす者の楽の音は全く聞かれず、あらゆる仕事の職人たちも全く姿を消し、また、ひきうすの音も、全く聞かれない。
18 23 The light of a lamp shall not shine in you anymore, and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you anymore. For your merchants were the great men of the earth, for by your sorcery all the nations were deceived. また、おまえの中では、あかりもともされず、花婿、花嫁の声も聞かれない。というのは、おまえの商人たちは地上で勢力を張る者となり、すべての国民はおまえのまじないでだまされ、
18 24 And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who were slain on the earth." また、預言者や聖徒の血、さらに、地上で殺されたすべての者の血が、この都で流されたからである」。

19 1 After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, "Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! この後、わたしは天の大群衆が大声で唱えるような声を聞いた、「ハレルヤ、救と栄光と力とは、われらの神のものであり、
19 2 For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her." そのさばきは、真実で正しい。神は、姦淫で地を汚した大淫婦をさばき、神の僕たちの血の報復を／彼女になさったからである」。
19 3 Again they said, "Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!" 再び声があって、「ハレルヤ、彼女が焼かれる火の煙は、世々限りなく立ちのぼる」と言った。
19 4 And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, "Amen! Alleluia!" すると、二十四人の長老と四つの生き物とがひれ伏し、御座にいます神を拝して言った、「アァメン、ハレルヤ」。
19 5 Then a voice came from the throne, saying, "Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!" その時、御座から声が出て言った、「すべての神の僕たちよ、神をおそれる者たちよ。小さき者も大いなる者も、共に、われらの神をさんびせよ」。
19 6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! わたしはまた、大群衆の声、多くの水の音、また激しい雷鳴のようなものを聞いた。それはこう言った、「ハレルヤ、全能者にして主なるわれらの神は、王なる支配者であられる。
19 7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready." わたしたちは喜び楽しみ、神をあがめまつろう。小羊の婚姻の時がきて、花嫁はその用意をしたからである。
19 8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. 彼女は、光り輝く、汚れのない麻布の衣を着ることを許された。この麻布の衣は、聖徒たちの正しい行いである」。
19 9 Then he said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!' " And he said to me, "These are the true sayings of God." それから、御使はわたしに言った、「書きしるせ。小羊の婚宴に招かれた者は、さいわいである」。またわたしに言った、「これらは、神の真実の言葉である」。
19 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." そこで、わたしは彼の足もとにひれ伏して、彼を拝そうとした。すると、彼は言った、「そのようなことをしてはいけない。わたしは、あなたと同じ僕仲間であり、またイエスのあかしびとであるあなたの兄弟たちと同じ僕仲間である。ただ神だけを拝しなさい。イエスのあかしは、すなわち預言の霊である」。
19 11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. またわたしが見ていると、天が開かれ、見よ、そこに白い馬がいた。それに乗っているかたは、「忠実で真実な者」と呼ばれ、義によってさばき、また、戦うかたである。
19 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. その目は燃える炎であり、その頭には多くの冠があった。また、彼以外にはだれも知らない名がその身にしるされていた。
19 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 彼は血染めの衣をまとい、その名は「神の言」と呼ばれた。
19 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. そして、天の軍勢が、純白で、汚れのない麻布の衣を着て、白い馬に乗り、彼に従った。
19 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. その口からは、諸国民を打つために、鋭いつるぎが出ていた。彼は、鉄のつえをもって諸国民を治め、また、全能者なる神の激しい怒りの酒ぶねを踏む。
19 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. その着物にも、そのももにも、「王の王、主の主」という名がしるされていた。
19 17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, "Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, また見ていると、ひとりの御使が太陽の中に立っていた。彼は、中空を飛んでいるすべての鳥にむかって、大声で叫んだ、「さあ、神の大宴会に集まってこい。
19 18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great." そして、王たちの肉、将軍の肉、勇者の肉、馬の肉、馬に乗っている者の肉、また、すべての自由人と奴隷との肉、小さき者と大いなる者との肉をくらえ」。
19 19And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. なお見ていると、獣と地の王たちと彼らの軍勢とが集まり、馬に乗っているかたとその軍勢とに対して、戦いをいどんだ。
19 20 Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. しかし、獣は捕えられ、また、この獣の前でしるしを行って、獣の刻印を受けた者とその像を拝む者とを惑わしたにせ預言者も、獣と共に捕えられた。そして、この両者とも、生きながら、硫黄の燃えている火の池に投げ込まれた。
19 21 And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh. それ以外の者たちは、馬に乗っておられるかたの口から出るつるぎで切り殺され、その肉を、すべての鳥が飽きるまで食べた。

20 1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. またわたしが見ていると、ひとりの御使が、底知れぬ所のかぎと大きな鎖とを手に持って、天から降りてきた。
20 2 He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 彼は、悪魔でありサタンである龍、すなわち、かの年を経たへびを捕えて千年の間つなぎおき、
20 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while. そして、底知れぬ所に投げ込み、入口を閉じてその上に封印し、千年の期間が終るまで、諸国民を惑わすことがないようにしておいた。その後、しばらくの間だけ解放されることになっていた。
20 4 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. また見ていると、かず多くの座があり、その上に人々がすわっていた。そして、彼らにさばきの権が与えられていた。また、イエスのあかしをし神の言を伝えたために首を切られた人々の霊がそこにおり、また、獣をもその像をも拝まず、その刻印を額や手に受けることをしなかった人々がいた。彼らは生きかえって、キリストと共に千年の間、支配した。
20 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. （それ以外の死人は、千年の期間が終るまで生きかえらなかった。）これが第一の復活である。
20 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. この第一の復活にあずかる者は、さいわいな者であり、また聖なる者である。この人たちに対しては、第二の死はなんの力もない。彼らは神とキリストとの祭司となり、キリストと共に千年の間、支配する。
20 7 Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison 千年の期間が終ると、サタンはその獄から解放される。
20 8 and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. そして、出て行き、地の四方にいる諸国民、すなわちゴグ、マゴグを惑わし、彼らを戦いのために召集する。その数は、海の砂のように多い。
20 9 They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. 彼らは地上の広い所に上ってきて、聖徒たちの陣営と愛されていた都とを包囲した。すると、天から火が下ってきて、彼らを焼き尽した。
20 10The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. そして、彼らを惑わした悪魔は、火と硫黄との池に投げ込まれた。そこには、獣もにせ預言者もいて、彼らは世々限りなく日夜、苦しめられるのである。
20 11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. また見ていると、大きな白い御座があり、そこにいますかたがあった。天も地も御顔の前から逃げ去って、あとかたもなくなった。
20 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. また、死んでいた者が、大いなる者も小さき者も共に、御座の前に立っているのが見えた。かずかずの書物が開かれたが、もう一つの書物が開かれた。これはいのちの書であった。死人はそのしわざに応じ、この書物に書かれていることにしたがって、さばかれた。
20 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 海はその中にいる死人を出し、死も黄泉もその中にいる死人を出し、そして、おのおのそのしわざに応じて、さばきを受けた。
20 14Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. それから、死も黄泉も火の池に投げ込まれた。この火の池が第二の死である。
20 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. このいのちの書に名がしるされていない者はみな、火の池に投げ込まれた。

21 1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. わたしはまた、新しい天と新しい地とを見た。先の天と地とは消え去り、海もなくなってしまった。
21 2Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. また、聖なる都、新しいエルサレムが、夫のために着飾った花嫁のように用意をととのえて、神のもとを出て、天から下って来るのを見た。
21 3And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. また、御座から大きな声が叫ぶのを聞いた、「見よ、神の幕屋が人と共にあり、神が人と共に住み、人は神の民となり、神自ら人と共にいまして、
21 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." 人の目から涙を全くぬぐいとって下さる。もはや、死もなく、悲しみも、叫びも、痛みもない。先のものが、すでに過ぎ去ったからである」。
21 5 Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful." すると、御座にいますかたが言われた、「見よ、わたしはすべてのものを新たにする」。また言われた、「書きしるせ。これらの言葉は、信ずべきであり、まことである」。
21 6 And He said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. そして、わたしに仰せられた、「事はすでに成った。わたしは、アルパでありオメガである。初めであり終りである。かわいている者には、いのちの水の泉から価なしに飲ませよう。
21 7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 勝利を得る者は、これらのものを受け継ぐであろう。わたしは彼の神となり、彼はわたしの子となる。
21 8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." しかし、おくびょうな者、信じない者、忌むべき者、人殺し、姦淫を行う者、まじないをする者、偶像を拝む者、すべて偽りを言う者には、火と硫黄の燃えている池が、彼らの受くべき報いである。これが第二の死である」。
21 9 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me and talked with me, saying, "Come, I will show you the bride, the Lamb's wife." 最後の七つの災害が満ちている七つの鉢を持っていた七人の御使のひとりがきて、わたしに語って言った、「さあ、きなさい。小羊の妻なる花嫁を見せよう」。
21 10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, この御使は、わたしを御霊に感じたまま、大きな高い山に連れて行き、聖都エルサレムが、神の栄光のうちに、神のみもとを出て天から下って来るのを見せてくれた。
21 11 having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal. その都の輝きは、高価な宝石のようであり、透明な碧玉のようであった。
21 12 Also she had a great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: それには大きな、高い城壁があって、十二の門があり、それらの門には、十二の御使がおり、イスラエルの子らの十二部族の名が、それに書いてあった。
21 13 three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west. 東に三つの門、北に三つの門、南に三つの門、西に三つの門があった。
21 14 Now the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. また都の城壁には十二の土台があり、それには小羊の十二使徒の十二の名が書いてあった。
21 15 And he who talked with me had a gold reed to measure the city, its gates, and its wall. わたしに語っていた者は、都とその門と城壁とを測るために、金の測りざおを持っていた。
21 16 The city is laid out as a square; its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand furlongs. Its length, breadth, and height are equal. 都は方形であって、その長さと幅とは同じである。彼がその測りざおで都を測ると、一万二千丁であった。長さと幅と高さとは、いずれも同じである。
21 17 Then he measured its wall: one hundred and forty-four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of an angel. また城壁を測ると、百四十四キュビトであった。これは人間の、すなわち、御使の尺度によるのである。
21 18 The construction of its wall was of jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass. 城壁は碧玉で築かれ、都はすきとおったガラスのような純金で造られていた。
21 19The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones: the first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, 都の城壁の土台は、さまざまな宝石で飾られていた。第一の土台は碧玉、第二はサファイヤ、第三はめのう、第四は緑玉、
21 20 the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. 第五は縞めのう、第六は赤めのう、第七はかんらん石、第八は緑柱石、第九は黄玉石、第十はひすい、第十一は青玉、第十二は紫水晶であった。
21 21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. 十二の門は十二の真珠であり、門はそれぞれ一つの真珠で造られ、都の大通りは、すきとおったガラスのような純金であった。
21 22 But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. わたしは、この都の中には聖所を見なかった。全能者にして主なる神と小羊とが、その聖所なのである。
21 23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. 都は、日や月がそれを照す必要がない。神の栄光が都を明るくし、小羊が都のあかりだからである。
21 24 And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. 諸国民は都の光の中を歩き、地の王たちは、自分たちの光栄をそこに携えて来る。
21 25Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there). 都の門は、終日、閉ざされることはない。そこには夜がないからである。
21 26 And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it. 人々は、諸国民の光栄とほまれとをそこに携えて来る。
21 27 But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life. しかし、汚れた者や、忌むべきこと及び偽りを行う者は、その中に決してはいれない。はいれる者は、小羊のいのちの書に名をしるされている者だけである。

22 1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. 御使はまた、水晶のように輝いているいのちの水の川をわたしに見せてくれた。この川は、神と小羊との御座から出て、
22 2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 都の大通りの中央を流れている。川の両側にはいのちの木があって、十二種の実を結び、その実は毎月みのり、その木の葉は諸国民をいやす。
22 3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. のろわるべきものは、もはや何ひとつない。神と小羊との御座は都の中にあり、その僕たちは彼を礼拝し、
22 4 They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. 御顔を仰ぎ見るのである。彼らの額には、御名がしるされている。
22 5 There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever. 夜は、もはやない。あかりも太陽の光も、いらない。主なる神が彼らを照し、そして、彼らは世々限りなく支配する。
22 6 Then he said to me, "These words are faithful and true." And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show His servants the things which must shortly take place. 彼はまた、わたしに言った、「これらの言葉は信ずべきであり、まことである。預言者たちのたましいの神なる主は、すぐにも起るべきことをその僕たちに示そうとして、御使をつかわされたのである。
22 7 "Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book." 見よ、わたしは、すぐに来る。この書の預言の言葉を守る者は、さいわいである」。
22 8 Now I, John, saw and heard these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things. これらのことを見聞きした者は、このヨハネである。わたしが見聞きした時、それらのことを示してくれた御使の足もとにひれ伏して拝そうとすると、
22 9Then he said to me, "See that you do not do that. For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God." 彼は言った、「そのようなことをしてはいけない。わたしは、あなたや、あなたの兄弟である預言者たちや、この書の言葉を守る者たちと、同じ僕仲間である。ただ神だけを拝しなさい」。
22 10 And he said to me, "Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand. またわたしに言った、「この書の預言の言葉を封じてはならない。時が近づいているからである。
22 11 He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still." 不義な者はさらに不義を行い、汚れた者はさらに汚れたことを行い、義なる者はさらに義を行い、聖なる者はさらに聖なることを行うままにさせよ」。
22 12 "And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. 「見よ、わたしはすぐに来る。報いを携えてきて、それぞれのしわざに応じて報いよう。
22 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last." わたしはアルパであり、オメガである。最初の者であり、最後の者である。初めであり、終りである。
22 14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. いのちの木にあずかる特権を与えられ、また門をとおって都にはいるために、自分の着物を洗う者たちは、さいわいである。
22 15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. 犬ども、まじないをする者、姦淫を行う者、人殺し、偶像を拝む者、また、偽りを好みかつこれを行う者はみな、外に出されている。
22 16 "I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star." わたしイエスは、使をつかわして、諸教会のために、これらのことをあなたがたにあかしした。わたしは、ダビデの若枝また子孫であり、輝く明けの明星である」。
22 17 And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. 御霊も花嫁も共に言った、「きたりませ」。また、聞く者も「きたりませ」と言いなさい。かわいている者はここに来るがよい。いのちの水がほしい者は、価なしにそれを受けるがよい。
22 18 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; この書の預言の言葉を聞くすべての人々に対して、わたしは警告する。もしこれに書き加える者があれば、神はその人に、この書に書かれている災害を加えられる。
22 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. また、もしこの預言の書の言葉をとり除く者があれば、神はその人の受くべき分を、この書に書かれているいのちの木と聖なる都から、とり除かれる。
22 20 He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I am coming quickly." Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! これらのことをあかしするかたが仰せになる、「しかり、わたしはすぐに来る」。アァメン、主イエスよ、きたりませ。
22 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. 主イエスの恵みが、一同の者と共にあるように。
