ヨハネの手紙第一	1 John 1	1
1	1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life--	初めからあったもの、わたしたちが聞いたもの、目で見たもの、よく見て手でさわったもの、すなわち、いのちの言について――
1	2 the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us--	このいのちが現れたので、この永遠のいのちをわたしたちは見て、そのあかしをし、かつ、あなたがたに告げ知らせるのである。この永遠のいのちは、父と共にいましたが、今やわたしたちに現れたものである――
1	3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.	すなわち、わたしたちが見たもの、聞いたものを、あなたがたにも告げ知らせる。それは、あなたがたも、わたしたちの交わりにあずかるようになるためである。わたしたちの交わりとは、父ならびに御子イエス・キリストとの交わりのことである。
1	4 And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.	これを書きおくるのは、わたしたちの喜びが満ちあふれるためである。
1	5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.	わたしたちがイエスから聞いて、あなたがたに伝えるおとずれは、こうである。神は光であって、神には少しの暗いところもない。
1	6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.	神と交わりをしていると言いながら、もし、やみの中を歩いているなら、わたしたちは偽っているのであって、真理を行っているのではない。
1	7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.	しかし、神が光の中にいますように、わたしたちも光の中を歩くならば、わたしたちは互に交わりをもち、そして、御子イエスの血が、すべての罪からわたしたちをきよめるのである。
1	8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.	もし、罪がないと言うなら、それは自分を欺くことであって、真理はわたしたちのうちにない。
1	9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.	もし、わたしたちが自分の罪を告白するならば、神は真実で正しいかたであるから、その罪をゆるし、すべての不義からわたしたちをきよめて下さる。
1	10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.	もし、罪を犯したことがないと言うなら、それは神を偽り者とするのであって、神の言はわたしたちのうちにない。

2	1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.	わたしの子たちよ。これらのことを書きおくるのは、あなたがたが罪を犯さないようになるためである。もし、罪を犯す者があれば、父のみもとには、わたしたちのために助け主、すなわち、義なるイエス・キリストがおられる。
2	2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.	彼は、わたしたちの罪のための、あがないの供え物である。ただ、わたしたちの罪のためばかりではなく、全世界の罪のためである。
2	3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.	もし、わたしたちが彼の戒めを守るならば、それによって彼を知っていることを悟るのである。
2	4He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.	「彼を知っている」と言いながら、その戒めを守らない者は、偽り者であって、真理はその人のうちにない。
2	5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.	しかし、彼の御言を守る者があれば、その人のうちに、神の愛が真に全うされるのである。それによって、わたしたちが彼にあることを知るのである。
2	6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.	「彼におる」と言う者は、彼が歩かれたように、その人自身も歩くべきである。
2	7 Brethren, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard from the beginning.	愛する者たちよ。わたしがあなたがたに書きおくるのは、新しい戒めではなく、あなたがたが初めから受けていた古い戒めである。その古い戒めとは、あなたがたがすでに聞いた御言である。
2	8 Again, a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining.	しかも、新しい戒めを、あなたがたに書きおくるのである。そして、それは、彼にとってもあなたがたにとっても、真理なのである。なぜなら、やみは過ぎ去り、まことの光がすでに輝いているからである。
2	9 He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now.	「光の中にいる」と言いながら、その兄弟を憎む者は、今なお、やみの中にいるのである。
2	10 He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.	兄弟を愛する者は、光におるのであって、つまずくことはない。
2	11 But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.	兄弟を憎む者は、やみの中におり、やみの中を歩くのであって、自分ではどこへ行くのかわからない。やみが彼の目を見えなくしたからである。
2	12 I write to you, little children, Because your sins are forgiven you for His name's sake.	子たちよ。あなたがたにこれを書きおくるのは、御名のゆえに、あなたがたの多くの罪がゆるされたからである。
2	13 I write to you, fathers, Because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, Because you have overcome the wicked one. I write to you, little children, Because you have known the Father.	父たちよ。あなたがたに書きおくるのは、あなたがたが、初めからいますかたを知ったからである。若者たちよ。あなたがたに書きおくるのは、あなたがたが、悪しき者にうち勝ったからである。
2	14 I have written to you, fathers, Because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, Because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, And you have overcome the wicked one.	子供たちよ。あなたがたに書きおくったのは、あなたがたが父を知ったからである。父たちよ。あなたがたに書きおくったのは、あなたがたが、初めからいますかたを知ったからである。若者たちよ。あなたがたに書きおくったのは、あなたがたが強い者であり、神の言があなたがたに宿り、そして、あなたがたが悪しき者にうち勝ったからである。
2	15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.	世と世にあるものとを、愛してはいけない。もし、世を愛する者があれば、父の愛は彼のうちにない。
2	16 For all that is in the world--the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not of the Father but is of the world.	すべて世にあるもの、すなわち、肉の欲、目の欲、持ち物の誇は、父から出たものではなく、世から出たものである。
2	17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.	世と世の欲とは過ぎ去る。しかし、神の御旨を行う者は、永遠にながらえる。
2	18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.	子供たちよ。今は終りの時である。あなたがたがかねて反キリストが来ると聞いていたように、今や多くの反キリストが現れてきた。それによって今が終りの時であることを知る。
2	19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.	彼らはわたしたちから出て行った。しかし、彼らはわたしたちに属する者ではなかったのである。もし属する者であったなら、わたしたちと一緒にとどまっていたであろう。しかし、出て行ったのは、元来、彼らがみなわたしたちに属さない者であることが、明らかにされるためである。
2	20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.	しかし、あなたがたは聖なる者に油を注がれているので、あなたがたすべてが、そのことを知っている。
2	21 I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth.	わたしが書きおくったのは、あなたがたが真理を知らないからではなく、それを知っているからであり、また、すべての偽りは真理から出るものでないことを、知っているからである。
2	22 Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.	偽り者とは、だれであるか。イエスのキリストであることを否定する者ではないか。父と御子とを否定する者は、反キリストである。
2	23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.	御子を否定する者は父を持たず、御子を告白する者は、また父をも持つのである。
2	24 Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father.	初めから聞いたことが、あなたがたのうちに、とどまるようにしなさい。初めから聞いたことが、あなたがたのうちにとどまっておれば、あなたがたも御子と父とのうちに、とどまることになる。
2	25 And this is the promise that He has promised us--eternal life.	これが、彼自らわたしたちに約束された約束であって、すなわち、永遠のいのちである。
2	26 These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you.	わたしは、あなたがたを惑わす者たちについて、これらのことを書きおくった。
2	27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.	あなたがたのうちには、キリストからいただいた油がとどまっているので、だれにも教えてもらう必要はない。この油が、すべてのことをあなたがたに教える。それはまことであって、偽りではないから、その油が教えたように、あなたがたは彼のうちにとどまっていなさい。
2	28 And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.	そこで、子たちよ。キリストのうちにとどまっていなさい。それは、彼が現れる時に、確信を持ち、その来臨に際して、みまえに恥じいることがないためである。
2	29 If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.	彼の義なるかたであることがわかれば、義を行う者はみな彼から生れたものであることを、知るであろう。
ヨハネの手紙第一	1 John 3	3
3	1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.	わたしたちが神の子と呼ばれるためには、どんなに大きな愛を父から賜わったことか、よく考えてみなさい。わたしたちは、すでに神の子なのである。世がわたしたちを知らないのは、父を知らなかったからである。
3	2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.	愛する者たちよ。わたしたちは今や神の子である。しかし、わたしたちがどうなるのか、まだ明らかではない。彼が現れる時、わたしたちは、自分たちが彼に似るものとなることを知っている。そのまことの御姿を見るからである。
3	3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.	彼についてこの望みをいだいている者は皆、彼がきよくあられるように、自らをきよくする。
3	4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.	すべて罪を犯す者は、不法を行う者である。罪は不法である。
3	5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.	あなたがたが知っているとおり、彼は罪をとり除くために現れたのであって、彼にはなんらの罪がない。
3	6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.	すべて彼におる者は、罪を犯さない。すべて罪を犯す者は彼を見たこともなく、知ったこともない者である。
3	7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.	子たちよ。だれにも惑わされてはならない。彼が義人であると同様に、義を行う者は義人である。
3	8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.	罪を犯す者は、悪魔から出た者である。悪魔は初めから罪を犯しているからである。神の子が現れたのは、悪魔のわざを滅ぼしてしまうためである。
3	9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.	すべて神から生れた者は、罪を犯さない。神の種が、その人のうちにとどまっているからである。また、その人は、神から生れた者であるから、罪を犯すことができない。
3	10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.	神の子と悪魔の子との区別は、これによって明らかである。すなわち、すべて義を行わない者は、神から出た者ではない。兄弟を愛さない者も、同様である。
3	11 For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another,	わたしたちは互に愛し合うべきである。これが、あなたがたの初めから聞いていたおとずれである。
3	12 not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother's righteous.	カインのようになってはいけない。彼は悪しき者から出て、その兄弟を殺したのである。なぜ兄弟を殺したのか。彼のわざが悪く、その兄弟のわざは正しかったからである。
3	13 Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you.	兄弟たちよ。世があなたがたを憎んでも、驚くには及ばない。
3	14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death.	わたしたちは、兄弟を愛しているので、死からいのちへ移ってきたことを、知っている。愛さない者は、死のうちにとどまっている。
3	15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.	あなたがたが知っているとおり、すべて兄弟を憎む者は人殺しであり、人殺しはすべて、そのうちに永遠のいのちをとどめてはいない。
3	16 By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.	主は、わたしたちのためにいのちを捨てて下さった。それによって、わたしたちは愛ということを知った。それゆえに、わたしたちもまた、兄弟のためにいのちを捨てるべきである。
3	17 But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?	世の富を持っていながら、兄弟が困っているのを見て、あわれみの心を閉じる者には、どうして神の愛が、彼のうちにあろうか。
3	18 My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.	子たちよ。わたしたちは言葉や口先だけで愛するのではなく、行いと真実とをもって愛し合おうではないか。
3	19 And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him.	それによって、わたしたちが真理から出たものであることがわかる。そして、神のみまえに心を安んじていよう。
3	20 For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.	なぜなら、たといわたしたちの心に責められるようなことがあっても、神はわたしたちの心よりも大いなるかたであって、すべてをご存じだからである。
3	21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.	愛する者たちよ。もし心に責められるようなことがなければ、わたしたちは神に対して確信を持つことができる。
3	22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.	そして、願い求めるものは、なんでもいただけるのである。それは、わたしたちが神の戒めを守り、みこころにかなうことを、行っているからである。
3	23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.	その戒めというのは、神の子イエス・キリストの御名を信じ、わたしたちに命じられたように、互に愛し合うべきことである。
3	24 Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.	神の戒めを守る人は、神におり、神もまたその人にいます。そして、神がわたしたちのうちにいますことは、神がわたしたちに賜わった御霊によって知るのである。
ヨハネの手紙第一	1 John 4	4
4	1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.	愛する者たちよ。すべての霊を信じることはしないで、それらの霊が神から出たものであるかどうか、ためしなさい。多くのにせ預言者が世に出てきているからである。
4	2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,	あなたがたは、こうして神の霊を知るのである。すなわち、イエス・キリストが肉体をとってこられたことを告白する霊は、すべて神から出ているものであり、
4	3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.	イエスを告白しない霊は、すべて神から出ているものではない。これは、反キリストの霊である。あなたがたは、それが来るとかねて聞いていたが、今やすでに世にきている。
4	4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.	子たちよ。あなたがたは神から出た者であって、彼らにうち勝ったのである。あなたがたのうちにいますのは、世にある者よりも大いなる者なのである。
4	5 They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them.	彼らは世から出たものである。だから、彼らは世のことを語り、世も彼らの言うことを聞くのである。
4	6We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.	しかし、わたしたちは神から出たものである。神を知っている者は、わたしたちの言うことを聞き、神から出ない者は、わたしたちの言うことを聞かない。これによって、わたしたちは、真理の霊と迷いの霊との区別を知るのである。
4	7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.	愛する者たちよ。わたしたちは互に愛し合おうではないか。愛は、神から出たものなのである。すべて愛する者は、神から生れた者であって、神を知っている。
4	8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.	愛さない者は、神を知らない。神は愛である。
4	9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.	神はそのひとり子を世につかわし、彼によってわたしたちを生きるようにして下さった。それによって、わたしたちに対する神の愛が明らかにされたのである。
4	10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.	わたしたちが神を愛したのではなく、神がわたしたちを愛して下さって、わたしたちの罪のためにあがないの供え物として、御子をおつかわしになった。ここに愛がある。
4	11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.	愛する者たちよ。神がこのようにわたしたちを愛して下さったのであるから、わたしたちも互に愛し合うべきである。
4	12 No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.	神を見た者は、まだひとりもいない。もしわたしたちが互に愛し合うなら、神はわたしたちのうちにいまし、神の愛がわたしたちのうちに全うされるのである。
4	13 By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.	神が御霊をわたしたちに賜わったことによって、わたしたちが神におり、神がわたしたちにいますことを知る。
4	14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.	わたしたちは、父が御子を世の救主としておつかわしになったのを見て、そのあかしをするのである。
4	15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.	もし人が、イエスを神の子と告白すれば、神はその人のうちにいまし、その人は神のうちにいるのである。
4	16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.	わたしたちは、神がわたしたちに対して持っておられる愛を知り、かつ信じている。神は愛である。愛のうちにいる者は、神におり、神も彼にいます。
4	17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.	わたしたちもこの世にあって彼のように生きているので、さばきの日に確信を持って立つことができる。そのことによって、愛がわたしたちに全うされているのである。
4	18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.	愛には恐れがない。完全な愛は恐れをとり除く。恐れには懲らしめが伴い、かつ恐れる者には、愛が全うされていないからである。
4	19 We love Him because He first loved us.	わたしたちが愛し合うのは、神がまずわたしたちを愛して下さったからである。
4	20 If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?	「神を愛している」と言いながら兄弟を憎む者は、偽り者である。現に見ている兄弟を愛さない者は、目に見えない神を愛することはできない。
4	21 And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.	神を愛する者は、兄弟をも愛すべきである。この戒めを、わたしたちは神から授かっている。
ヨハネの手紙第一	1 John 5	5
5	1 Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him.	すべてイエスのキリストであることを信じる者は、神から生れた者である。すべて生んで下さったかたを愛する者は、そのかたから生れた者をも愛するのである。
5	2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments.	神を愛してその戒めを行えば、それによってわたしたちは、神の子たちを愛していることを知るのである。
5	3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.	神を愛するとは、すなわち、その戒めを守ることである。そして、その戒めはむずかしいものではない。
5	4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.	なぜなら、すべて神から生れた者は、世に勝つからである。そして、わたしたちの信仰こそ、世に勝たしめた勝利の力である。
5	5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?	世に勝つ者はだれか。イエスを神の子と信じる者ではないか。
5	6 This is He who came by water and blood--Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth.	このイエス・キリストは、水と血とをとおってこられたかたである。水によるだけではなく、水と血とによってこられたのである。そのあかしをするものは、御霊である。御霊は真理だからである。
5	7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.	あかしをするものが、三つある。
5	8 And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.	御霊と水と血とである。そして、この三つのものは一致する。
5	9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son.	わたしたちは人間のあかしを受けいれるが、しかし、神のあかしはさらにまさっている。神のあかしというのは、すなわち、御子について立てられたあかしである。
5	10 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son.	神の子を信じる者は、自分のうちにこのあかしを持っている。神を信じない者は、神を偽り者とする。神が御子についてあかしせられたそのあかしを、信じていないからである。
5	11And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.	そのあかしとは、神が永遠のいのちをわたしたちに賜わり、かつ、そのいのちが御子のうちにあるということである。
5	12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.	御子を持つ者はいのちを持ち、神の御子を持たない者はいのちを持っていない。
5	13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.	これらのことをあなたがたに書きおくったのは、神の子の御名を信じるあなたがたに、永遠のいのちを持っていることを、悟らせるためである。
5	14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.	わたしたちが神に対していだいている確信は、こうである。すなわち、わたしたちが何事でも神の御旨に従って願い求めるなら、神はそれを聞きいれて下さるということである。
5	15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.	そして、わたしたちが願い求めることは、なんでも聞きいれて下さるとわかれば、神に願い求めたことはすでにかなえられたことを、知るのである。
5	16 If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin which does not lead to death, he will ask, and He will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death. There is sin leading to death. I do not say that he should pray about that.	もしだれかが死に至ることのない罪を犯している兄弟を見たら、神に願い求めなさい。そうすれば神は、死に至ることのない罪を犯している人々には、いのちを賜わるであろう。死に至る罪がある。これについては、願い求めよ、とは言わない。
5	17 All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not leading to death.	不義はすべて、罪である。しかし、死に至ることのない罪もある。
5	18 We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.	すべて神から生れた者は罪を犯さないことを、わたしたちは知っている。神から生れたかたが彼を守っていて下さるので、悪しき者が手を触れるようなことはない。
5	19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.	また、わたしたちは神から出た者であり、全世界は悪しき者の配下にあることを、知っている。
5	20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.	さらに、神の子がきて、真実なかたを知る知力をわたしたちに授けて下さったことも、知っている。そして、わたしたちは、真実なかたにおり、御子イエス・キリストにおるのである。このかたは真実な神であり、永遠のいのちである。
5	21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.	子たちよ。気をつけて、偶像を避けなさい。
