ガラテヤ人への手紙	Galatians 1	1
1	1 Paul, an apostle (not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised Him from the dead),	人々からでもなく、人によってでもなく、イエス・キリストと彼を死人の中からよみがえらせた父なる神とによって立てられた使徒パウロ、
1	2and all the brethren who are with me, To the churches of Galatia:	ならびにわたしと共にいる兄弟たち一同から、ガラテヤの諸教会へ。
1	3Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ,	わたしたちの父なる神と主イエス・キリストから、恵みと平安とが、あなたがたにあるように。
1	4 who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,	キリストは、わたしたちの父なる神の御旨に従い、わたしたちを今の悪の世から救い出そうとして、ご自身をわたしたちの罪のためにささげられたのである。
1	5 to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.	栄光が世々限りなく神にあるように、アァメン。
1	6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel,	あなたがたがこんなにも早く、あなたがたをキリストの恵みの内へお招きになったかたから離れて、違った福音に落ちていくことが、わたしには不思議でならない。
1	7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.	それは福音というべきものではなく、ただ、ある種の人々があなたがたをかき乱し、キリストの福音を曲げようとしているだけのことである。
1	8But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.	しかし、たといわたしたちであろうと、天からの御使であろうと、わたしたちが宣べ伝えた福音に反することをあなたがたに宣べ伝えるなら、その人はのろわるべきである。
1	9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.	わたしたちが前に言っておいたように、今わたしは重ねて言う。もしある人が、あなたがたの受けいれた福音に反することを宣べ伝えているなら、その人はのろわるべきである。
1	10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.	今わたしは、人に喜ばれようとしているのか、それとも、神に喜ばれようとしているのか。あるいは、人の歓心を買おうと努めているのか。もし、今もなお人の歓心を買おうとしているとすれば、わたしはキリストの僕ではあるまい。
1	11 But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man.	兄弟たちよ。あなたがたに、はっきり言っておく。わたしが宣べ伝えた福音は人間によるものではない。
1	12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.	わたしは、それを人間から受けたのでも教えられたのでもなく、ただイエス・キリストの啓示によったのである。
1	13 For you have heard of my former conduct in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God beyond measure and tried to destroy it.	ユダヤ教を信じていたころのわたしの行動については、あなたがたはすでによく聞いている。すなわち、わたしは激しく神の教会を迫害し、また荒しまわっていた。
1	14 And I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries in my own nation, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.	そして、同国人の中でわたしと同年輩の多くの者にまさってユダヤ教に精進し、先祖たちの言伝えに対して、だれよりもはるかに熱心であった。
1	15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb and called me through His grace,	ところが、母の胎内にある時からわたしを聖別し、み恵みをもってわたしをお召しになったかたが、
1	16 to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood,	異邦人の間に宣べ伝えさせるために、御子をわたしの内に啓示して下さった時、わたしは直ちに、血肉に相談もせず、
1	17nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia, and returned again to Damascus.	また先輩の使徒たちに会うためにエルサレムにも上らず、アラビヤに出て行った。それから再びダマスコに帰った。
1	18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and remained with him fifteen days.	その後三年たってから、わたしはケパをたずねてエルサレムに上り、彼のもとに十五日間、滞在した。
1	19 But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the Lord's brother.	しかし、主の兄弟ヤコブ以外には、ほかのどの使徒にも会わなかった。
1	20 (Now concerning the things which I write to you, indeed, before God, I do not lie.)	ここに書いていることは、神のみまえで言うが、決して偽りではない。
1	21 Afterward I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia.	その後、わたしはシリヤとキリキヤとの地方に行った。
1	22 And I was unknown by face to the churches of Judea which were in Christ.	しかし、キリストにあるユダヤの諸教会には、顔を知られていなかった。
1	23 But they were hearing only, "He who formerly persecuted us now preaches the faith which he once tried to destroy."	ただ彼らは、「かつて自分たちを迫害した者が、以前には撲滅しようとしていたその信仰を、今は宣べ伝えている」と聞き、
1	24 And they glorified God in me.	わたしのことで、神をほめたたえた。

2	1 Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and also took Titus with me.	その後十四年たってから、わたしはバルナバと一緒に、テトスをも連れて、再びエルサレムに上った。
2	2 And I went up by revelation, and communicated to them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to those who were of reputation, lest by any means I might run, or had run, in vain.	そこに上ったのは、啓示によってである。そして、わたしが異邦人の間に宣べ伝えている福音を、人々に示し、「重だった人たち」には個人的に示した。それは、わたしが現に走っており、またすでに走ってきたことが、むだにならないためである。
2	3 Yet not even Titus who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised.	しかし、わたしが連れていたテトスでさえ、ギリシヤ人であったのに、割礼をしいられなかった。
2	4 And this occurred because of false brethren secretly brought in (who came in by stealth to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage),	それは、忍び込んできたにせ兄弟らがいたので――彼らが忍び込んできたのは、キリスト・イエスにあって持っているわたしたちの自由をねらって、わたしたちを奴隷にするためであった。
2	5 to whom we did not yield submission even for an hour, that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.	わたしたちは、福音の真理があなたがたのもとに常にとどまっているように、瞬時も彼らの強要に屈服しなかった。
2	6 But from those who seemed to be something--whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; God shows personal favoritism to no man--for those who seemed to be something added nothing to me.	そして、かの「重だった人たち」からは――彼らがどんな人であったにしても、それは、わたしには全く問題ではない。神は人を分け隔てなさらないのだから――事実、かの「重だった人たち」は、わたしに何も加えることをしなかった。
2	7 But on the contrary, when they saw that the gospel for the uncircumcised had been committed to me, as the gospel for the circumcised was to Peter	それどころか、彼らは、ペテロが割礼の者への福音をゆだねられているように、わたしには無割礼の者への福音がゆだねられていることを認め、
2	8 (for He who worked effectively in Peter for the apostleship to the circumcised also worked effectively in me toward the Gentiles),	（というのは、ペテロに働きかけて割礼の者への使徒の務につかせたかたは、わたしにも働きかけて、異邦人につかわして下さったからである）、
2	9 and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.	かつ、わたしに賜わった恵みを知って、柱として重んじられているヤコブとケパとヨハネとは、わたしとバルナバとに、交わりの手を差し伸べた。そこで、わたしたちは異邦人に行き、彼らは割礼の者に行くことになったのである。
2	10 They desired only that we should remember the poor, the very thing which I also was eager to do.	ただ一つ、わたしたちが貧しい人々をかえりみるようにとのことであったが、わたしはもとより、この事のためにも大いに努めてきたのである。
2	11 Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed;	ところが、ケパがアンテオケにきたとき、彼に非難すべきことがあったので、わたしは面とむかって彼をなじった。
2	12 for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision.	というのは、ヤコブのもとからある人々が来るまでは、彼は異邦人と食を共にしていたのに、彼らがきてからは、割礼の者どもを恐れ、しだいに身を引いて離れて行ったからである。
2	13And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy.	そして、ほかのユダヤ人たちも彼と共に偽善の行為をし、バルナバまでがそのような偽善に引きずり込まれた。
2	14 But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, "If you, being a Jew, live in the manner of Gentiles and not as the Jews, why do you compel Gentiles to live as Jews?	彼らが福音の真理に従ってまっすぐに歩いていないのを見て、わたしは衆人の面前でケパに言った、「あなたは、ユダヤ人であるのに、自分自身はユダヤ人のように生活しないで、異邦人のように生活していながら、どうして異邦人にユダヤ人のようになることをしいるのか」。
2	15 We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,	わたしたちは生れながらのユダヤ人であって、異邦人なる罪人ではないが、
2	16 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.	人の義とされるのは律法の行いによるのではなく、ただキリスト・イエスを信じる信仰によることを認めて、わたしたちもキリスト・イエスを信じたのである。それは、律法の行いによるのではなく、キリストを信じる信仰によって義とされるためである。なぜなら、律法の行いによっては、だれひとり義とされることがないからである。
2	17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Certainly not!	しかし、キリストにあって義とされることを求めることによって、わたしたち自身が罪人であるとされるのなら、キリストは罪に仕える者なのであろうか。断じてそうではない。
2	18 For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.	もしわたしが、いったん打ちこわしたものを、再び建てるとすれば、それこそ、自分が違反者であることを表明することになる。
2	19 For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God.	わたしは、神に生きるために、律法によって律法に死んだ。わたしはキリストと共に十字架につけられた。
2	20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.	生きているのは、もはや、わたしではない。キリストが、わたしのうちに生きておられるのである。しかし、わたしがいま肉にあって生きているのは、わたしを愛し、わたしのためにご自身をささげられた神の御子を信じる信仰によって、生きているのである。
2	21 I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain."	わたしは、神の恵みを無にはしない。もし、義が律法によって得られるとすれば、キリストの死はむだであったことになる。

3	1 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified?	ああ、物わかりのわるいガラテヤ人よ。十字架につけられたイエス・キリストが、あなたがたの目の前に描き出されたのに、いったい、だれがあなたがたを惑わしたのか。
3	2 This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?	わたしは、ただこの一つの事を、あなたがたに聞いてみたい。あなたがたが御霊を受けたのは、律法を行ったからか、それとも、聞いて信じたからか。
3	3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?	あなたがたは、そんなに物わかりがわるいのか。御霊で始めたのに、今になって肉で仕上げるというのか。
3	4 Have you suffered so many things in vain--if indeed it was in vain?	あれほどの大きな経験をしたことは、むだであったのか。まさか、むだではあるまい。
3	5 Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?--	すると、あなたがたに御霊を賜い、力あるわざをあなたがたの間でなされたのは、律法を行ったからか、それとも、聞いて信じたからか。
3	6 just as Abraham "believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness."	このように、アブラハムは「神を信じた。それによって、彼は義と認められた」のである。
3	7Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham.	だから、信仰による者こそアブラハムの子であることを、知るべきである。
3	8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, "In you all the nations shall be blessed."	聖書は、神が異邦人を信仰によって義とされることを、あらかじめ知って、アブラハムに、「あなたによって、すべての国民は祝福されるであろう」との良い知らせを、予告したのである。
3	9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.	このように、信仰による者は、信仰の人アブラハムと共に、祝福を受けるのである。
3	10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them."	いったい、律法の行いによる者は、皆のろいの下にある。「律法の書に書いてあるいっさいのことを守らず、これを行わない者は、皆のろわれる」と書いてあるからである。
3	11 But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for "the just shall live by faith."	そこで、律法によっては、神のみまえに義とされる者はひとりもないことが、明らかである。なぜなら、「信仰による義人は生きる」からである。
3	12Yet the law is not of faith, but "the man who does them shall live by them."	律法は信仰に基いているものではない。かえって、「律法を行う者は律法によって生きる」のである。
3	13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"),	キリストは、わたしたちのためにのろいとなって、わたしたちを律法ののろいからあがない出して下さった。聖書に、「木にかけられる者は、すべてのろわれる」と書いてある。
3	14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.	それは、アブラハムの受けた祝福が、イエス・キリストにあって異邦人に及ぶためであり、約束された御霊を、わたしたちが信仰によって受けるためである。
3	15 Brethren, I speak in the manner of men: Though it is only a man's covenant, yet if it is confirmed, no one annuls or adds to it.	兄弟たちよ。世のならわしを例にとって言おう。人間の遺言でさえ、いったん作成されたら、これを無効にしたり、これに付け加えたりすることは、だれにもできない。
3	16 Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, "And to seeds," as of many, but as of one, "And to your Seed," who is Christ.	さて、約束は、アブラハムと彼の子孫とに対してなされたのである。それは、多数をさして「子孫たちとに」と言わずに、ひとりをさして「あなたの子孫とに」と言っている。これは、キリストのことである。
3	17 And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect.	わたしの言う意味は、こうである。神によってあらかじめ立てられた契約が、四百三十年の後にできた律法によって破棄されて、その約束がむなしくなるようなことはない。
3	18 For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise.	もし相続が、律法に基いてなされるとすれば、もはや約束に基いたものではない。ところが事実、神は約束によって、相続の恵みをアブラハムに賜わったのである。
3	19 What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator.	それでは、律法はなんであるか。それは違反を促すため、あとから加えられたのであって、約束されていた子孫が来るまで存続するだけのものであり、かつ、天使たちをとおし、仲介者の手によって制定されたものにすぎない。
3	20 Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one.	仲介者なるものは、一方だけに属する者ではない。しかし、神はひとりである。
3	21 Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law.	では、律法は神の約束と相いれないものか。断じてそうではない。もし人を生かす力のある律法が与えられていたとすれば、義はたしかに律法によって実現されたであろう。
3	22 But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.	しかし、約束が、信じる人々にイエス・キリストに対する信仰によって与えられるために、聖書はすべての人を罪の下に閉じ込めたのである。
3	23 But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed.	しかし、信仰が現れる前には、わたしたちは律法の下で監視されており、やがて啓示される信仰の時まで閉じ込められていた。
3	24 Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.	このようにして律法は、信仰によって義とされるために、わたしたちをキリストに連れて行く養育掛となったのである。
3	25 But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.	しかし、いったん信仰が現れた以上、わたしたちは、もはや養育掛のもとにはいない。
3	26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.	あなたがたはみな、キリスト・イエスにある信仰によって、神の子なのである。
3	27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.	キリストに合うバプテスマを受けたあなたがたは、皆キリストを着たのである。
3	28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.	もはや、ユダヤ人もギリシヤ人もなく、奴隷も自由人もなく、男も女もない。あなたがたは皆、キリスト・イエスにあって一つだからである。
3	29 And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.	もしキリストのものであるなら、あなたがたはアブラハムの子孫であり、約束による相続人なのである。

4	1 Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all,	わたしの言う意味は、こうである。相続人が子供である間は、全財産の持ち主でありながら、僕となんの差別もなく、
4	2 but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father.	父親の定めた時期までは、管理人や後見人の監督の下に置かれているのである。
4	3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world.	それと同じく、わたしたちも子供であった時には、いわゆるこの世のもろもろの霊力の下に、縛られていた者であった。
4	4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,	しかし、時の満ちるに及んで、神は御子を女から生れさせ、律法の下に生れさせて、おつかわしになった。
4	5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.	それは、律法の下にある者をあがない出すため、わたしたちに子たる身分を授けるためであった。
4	6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!"	このように、あなたがたは子であるのだから、神はわたしたちの心の中に、「アバ、父よ」と呼ぶ御子の霊を送って下さったのである。
4	7 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.	したがって、あなたがたはもはや僕ではなく、子である。子である以上、また神による相続人である。
4	8 But then, indeed, when you did not know God, you served those which by nature are not gods.	神を知らなかった当時、あなたがたは、本来神ならぬ神々の奴隷になっていた。
4	9 But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage?	しかし、今では神を知っているのに、否、むしろ神に知られているのに、どうして、あの無力で貧弱な、もろもろの霊力に逆もどりして、またもや、新たにその奴隷になろうとするのか。
4	10 You observe days and months and seasons and years.	あなたがたは、日や月や季節や年などを守っている。
4	11 I am afraid for you, lest I have labored for you in vain.	わたしは、あなたがたのために努力してきたことが、あるいは、むだになったのではないかと、あなたがたのことが心配でならない。
4	12 Brethren, I urge you to become like me, for I became like you. You have not injured me at all.	兄弟たちよ。お願いする。どうか、わたしのようになってほしい。わたしも、あなたがたのようになったのだから。あなたがたは、一度もわたしに対して不都合なことをしたことはない。
4	13 You know that because of physical infirmity I preached the gospel to you at the first.	あなたがたも知っているとおり、最初わたしがあなたがたに福音を伝えたのは、わたしの肉体が弱っていたためであった。
4	14 And my trial which was in my flesh you did not despise or reject, but you received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.	そして、わたしの肉体にはあなたがたにとって試錬となるものがあったのに、それを卑しめもせず、またきらいもせず、かえってわたしを、神の使かキリスト・イエスかでもあるように、迎えてくれた。
4	15 What then was the blessing you enjoyed? For I bear you witness that, if possible, you would have plucked out your own eyes and given them to me.	その時のあなたがたの感激は、今どこにあるのか。はっきり言うが、あなたがたは、できることなら、自分の目をえぐり出してでも、わたしにくれたかったのだ。
4	16 Have I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth?	それだのに、真理を語ったために、わたしはあなたがたの敵になったのか。
4	17 They zealously court you, but for no good; yes, they want to exclude you, that you may be zealous for them.	彼らがあなたがたに対して熱心なのは、善意からではない。むしろ、自分らに熱心にならせるために、あなたがたをわたしから引き離そうとしているのである。
4	18 But it is good to be zealous in a good thing always, and not only when I am present with you.	わたしがあなたがたの所にいる時だけでなく、いつも、良いことについて熱心に慕われるのは、良いことである。
4	19 My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you,	ああ、わたしの幼な子たちよ。あなたがたの内にキリストの形ができるまでは、わたしは、またもや、あなたがたのために産みの苦しみをする。
4	20 I would like to be present with you now and to change my tone; for I have doubts about you.	できることなら、わたしは今あなたがたの所にいて、語調を変えて話してみたい。わたしは、あなたがたのことで、途方にくれている。
4	21 Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law?	律法の下にとどまっていたいと思う人たちよ。わたしに答えなさい。あなたがたは律法の言うところを聞かないのか。
4	22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman.	そのしるすところによると、アブラハムにふたりの子があったが、ひとりは女奴隷から、ひとりは自由の女から生れた。
4	23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and he of the freewoman through promise,	女奴隷の子は肉によって生れたのであり、自由の女の子は約束によって生れたのであった。
4	24 which things are symbolic. For these are the two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar--	さて、この物語は比喩としてみられる。すなわち、この女たちは二つの契約をさす。そのひとりはシナイ山から出て、奴隷となる者を産む。ハガルがそれである。
4	25 for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children--	ハガルといえば、アラビヤではシナイ山のことで、今のエルサレムに当る。なぜなら、それは子たちと共に、奴隷となっているからである。
4	26 but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all.	しかし、上なるエルサレムは、自由の女であって、わたしたちの母をさす。
4	27 For it is written: "Rejoice, O barren, You who do not bear! Break forth and shout, You who are not in labor! For the desolate has many more children Than she who has a husband."	すなわち、こう書いてある、／「喜べ、不妊の女よ。声をあげて喜べ、産みの苦しみを知らない女よ。ひとり者となっている女は多くの子を産み、／その数は、夫ある女の子らよりも多い」。
4	28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise.	兄弟たちよ。あなたがたは、イサクのように、約束の子である。
4	29 But, as he who was born according to the flesh then persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now.	しかし、その当時、肉によって生れた者が、霊によって生れた者を迫害したように、今でも同様である。
4	30 Nevertheless what does the Scripture say? "Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman."	しかし、聖書はなんと言っているか。「女奴隷とその子とを追い出せ。女奴隷の子は、自由の女の子と共に相続をしてはならない」とある。
4	31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman but of the free.	だから、兄弟たちよ。わたしたちは女奴隷の子ではなく、自由の女の子なのである。
ガラテヤ人への手紙	Galatians 5	5
5	1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.	自由を得させるために、キリストはわたしたちを解放して下さったのである。だから、堅く立って、二度と奴隷のくびきにつながれてはならない。
5	2Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing.	見よ、このパウロがあなたがたに言う。もし割礼を受けるなら、キリストはあなたがたに用のないものになろう。
5	3 And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law.	割礼を受けようとするすべての人たちに、もう一度言っておく。そういう人たちは、律法の全部を行う義務がある。
5	4 You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.	律法によって義とされようとするあなたがたは、キリストから離れてしまっている。恵みから落ちている。
5	5 For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.	わたしたちは、御霊の助けにより、信仰によって義とされる望みを強くいだいている。
5	6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.	キリスト・イエスにあっては、割礼があってもなくても、問題ではない。尊いのは、愛によって働く信仰だけである。
5	7 You ran well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?	あなたがたはよく走り続けてきたのに、だれが邪魔をして、真理にそむかせたのか。
5	8 This persuasion does not come from Him who calls you.	そのような勧誘は、あなたがたを召されたかたから出たものではない。
5	9 A little leaven leavens the whole lump.	少しのパン種でも、粉のかたまり全体をふくらませる。
5	10 I have confidence in you, in the Lord, that you will have no other mind; but he who troubles you shall bear his judgment, whoever he is.	あなたがたはいささかもわたしと違った思いをいだくことはないと、主にあって信頼している。しかし、あなたがたを動揺させている者は、それがだれであろうと、さばきを受けるであろう。
5	11 And I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why do I still suffer persecution? Then the offense of the cross has ceased.	兄弟たちよ。わたしがもし今でも割礼を宣べ伝えていたら、どうして、いまなお迫害されるはずがあろうか。そうしていたら、十字架のつまずきは、なくなっているであろう。
5	12 I could wish that those who trouble you would even cut themselves off!	あなたがたの煽動者どもは、自ら去勢してしまうがよかろう。
5	13 For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.	兄弟たちよ。あなたがたが召されたのは、実に、自由を得るためである。ただ、その自由を、肉の働く機会としないで、愛をもって互に仕えなさい。
5	14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."	律法の全体は、「自分を愛するように、あなたの隣り人を愛せよ」というこの一句に尽きるからである。
5	15 But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!	気をつけるがよい。もし互にかみ合い、食い合っているなら、あなたがたは互に滅ぼされてしまうだろう。
5	16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.	わたしは命じる、御霊によって歩きなさい。そうすれば、決して肉の欲を満たすことはない。
5	17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.	なぜなら、肉の欲するところは御霊に反し、また御霊の欲するところは肉に反するからである。こうして、二つのものは互に相さからい、その結果、あなたがたは自分でしようと思うことを、することができないようになる。
5	18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.	もしあなたがたが御霊に導かれるなら、律法の下にはいない。
5	19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,	肉の働きは明白である。すなわち、不品行、汚れ、好色、
5	20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,	偶像礼拝、まじない、敵意、争い、そねみ、怒り、党派心、分裂、分派、
5	21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.	ねたみ、泥酔、宴楽、および、そのたぐいである。わたしは以前も言ったように、今も前もって言っておく。このようなことを行う者は、神の国をつぐことがない。
5	22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,	しかし、御霊の実は、愛、喜び、平和、寛容、慈愛、善意、忠実、
5	23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.	柔和、自制であって、これらを否定する律法はない。
5	24 And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.	キリスト・イエスに属する者は、自分の肉を、その情と欲と共に十字架につけてしまったのである。
5	25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.	もしわたしたちが御霊によって生きるのなら、また御霊によって進もうではないか。
5	26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.	互にいどみ合い、互にねたみ合って、虚栄に生きてはならない。
ガラテヤ人への手紙	Galatians 6	6
6	1 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.	兄弟たちよ。もしもある人が罪過に陥っていることがわかったなら、霊の人であるあなたがたは、柔和な心をもって、その人を正しなさい。それと同時に、もしか自分自身も誘惑に陥ることがありはしないかと、反省しなさい。
6	2 Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.	互に重荷を負い合いなさい。そうすれば、あなたがたはキリストの律法を全うするであろう。
6	3 For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.	もしある人が、事実そうでないのに、自分が何か偉い者であるように思っているとすれば、その人は自分を欺いているのである。
6	4 But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.	ひとりびとり、自分の行いを検討してみるがよい。そうすれば、自分だけには誇ることができても、ほかの人には誇れなくなるであろう。
6	5 For each one shall bear his own load.	人はそれぞれ、自分自身の重荷を負うべきである。
6	6 Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches.	御言を教えてもらう人は、教える人と、すべて良いものを分け合いなさい。
6	7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.	まちがってはいけない、神は侮られるようなかたではない。人は自分のまいたものを、刈り取ることになる。
6	8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.	すなわち、自分の肉にまく者は、肉から滅びを刈り取り、霊にまく者は、霊から永遠のいのちを刈り取るであろう。
6	9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.	わたしたちは、善を行うことに、うみ疲れてはならない。たゆまないでいると、時が来れば刈り取るようになる。
6	10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.	だから、機会のあるごとに、だれに対しても、とくに信仰の仲間に対して、善を行おうではないか。
6	11 See with what large letters I have written to you with my own hand!	ごらんなさい。わたし自身いま筆をとって、こんなに大きい字で、あなたがたに書いていることを。
6	12 As many as desire to make a good showing in the flesh, these would compel you to be circumcised, only that they may not suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.	いったい、肉において見えを飾ろうとする者たちは、キリスト・イエスの十字架のゆえに、迫害を受けたくないばかりに、あなたがたにしいて割礼を受けさせようとする。
6	13 For not even those who are circumcised keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.	事実、割礼のあるもの自身が律法を守らず、ただ、あなたがたの肉について誇りたいために、割礼を受けさせようとしているのである。
6	14 But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.	しかし、わたし自身には、わたしたちの主イエス・キリストの十字架以外に、誇とするものは、断じてあってはならない。この十字架につけられて、この世はわたしに対して死に、わたしもこの世に対して死んでしまったのである。
6	15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation.	割礼のあるなしは問題ではなく、ただ、新しく造られることこそ、重要なのである。
6	16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.	この法則に従って進む人々の上に、平和とあわれみとがあるように。また、神のイスラエルの上にあるように。
6	17 From now on let no one trouble me, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.	だれも今後は、わたしに煩いをかけないでほしい。わたしは、イエスの焼き印を身に帯びているのだから。
6	18 Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.	兄弟たちよ。わたしたちの主イエス・キリストの恵みが、あなたがたの霊と共にあるように、アァメン。
