ヨハネの手紙第二	2 John 1	1
1	1 The Elder, To the elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not only I, but also all those who have known the truth,	長老のわたしから、真実に愛している選ばれた婦人とその子たちへ。あなたがたを愛しているのは、わたしだけではなく、真理を知っている者はみなそうである。
1	2because of the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever:	それは、わたしたちのうちにあり、また永遠に共にあるべき真理によるのである。
1	3Grace, mercy, and peace will be with you from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.	父なる神および父の御子イエス・キリストから、恵みとあわれみと平安とが、真理と愛のうちにあって、わたしたちと共にあるように。
1	4 I rejoiced greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, as we received commandment from the Father.	あなたの子供たちのうちで、わたしたちが父から受けた戒めどおりに、真理のうちを歩いている者があるのを見て、わたしは非常に喜んでいる。
1	5 And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another.	婦人よ。ここにお願いしたいことがある。それは、新しい戒めを書くわけではなく、初めから持っていた戒めなのであるが、わたしたちは、みんな互に愛し合おうではないか。
1	6 This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.	父の戒めどおりに歩くことが、すなわち、愛であり、あなたがたが初めから聞いてきたとおりに愛のうちを歩くことが、すなわち、戒めなのである。
1	7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.	なぜなら、イエス・キリストが肉体をとってこられたことを告白しないで人を惑わす者が、多く世にはいってきたからである。そういう者は、惑わす者であり、反キリストである。
1	8 Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward.	よく注意して、わたしたちの働いて得た成果を失うことがなく、豊かな報いを受けられるようにしなさい。
1	9 Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.	すべてキリストの教をとおり過ごして、それにとどまらない者は、神を持っていないのである。その教にとどまっている者は、父を持ち、また御子をも持つ。
1	10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him;	この教を持たずにあなたがたのところに来る者があれば、その人を家に入れることも、あいさつすることもしてはいけない。
1	11 for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.	そのような人にあいさつする者は、その悪い行いにあずかることになるからである。
1	12 Having many things to write to you, I did not wish to do so with paper and ink; but I hope to come to you and speak face to face, that our joy may be full.	あなたがたに書きおくることはたくさんあるが、紙と墨とで書くことはすまい。むしろ、あなたがたのところに行き、直接はなし合って、共に喜びに満ちあふれたいものである。
1	13 The children of your elect sister greet you. Amen.	選ばれたあなたの姉妹の子供たちが、あなたによろしく。
