1	1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ,To the pilgrims of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,	イエス・キリストの使徒ペテロから、ポント、ガラテヤ、カパドキヤ、アジヤおよびビテニヤに離散し寄留している人たち、
1	2 elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.	すなわち、イエス・キリストに従い、かつ、その血のそそぎを受けるために、父なる神の予知されたところによって選ばれ、御霊のきよめにあずかっている人たちへ。恵みと平安とが、あなたがたに豊かに加わるように。
1	3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,	ほむべきかな、わたしたちの主イエス・キリストの父なる神。神は、その豊かなあわれみにより、イエス・キリストを死人の中からよみがえらせ、それにより、わたしたちを新たに生れさせて生ける望みをいだかせ、

1	5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.	あなたがたは、終りの時に啓示さるべき救にあずかるために、信仰により神の御力に守られているのである。
1	6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,	そのことを思って、今しばらくのあいだは、さまざまな試錬で悩まねばならないかも知れないが、あなたがたは大いに喜んでいる。
1	7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,	こうして、あなたがたの信仰はためされて、火で精錬されても朽ちる外はない金よりもはるかに尊いことが明らかにされ、イエス・キリストの現れるとき、さんびと栄光とほまれとに変るであろう。
1	8whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,	あなたがたは、イエス・キリストを見たことはないが、彼を愛している。現在、見てはいけないけれども、信じて、言葉につくせない、輝きにみちた喜びにあふれている。
1	9receiving the end of your faith--the salvation of your souls.	それは、信仰の結果なるたましいの救を得ているからである。
1	10 Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you,	この救については、あなたがたに対する恵みのことを預言した預言者たちも、たずね求め、かつ、つぶさに調べた。
1	11 searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.	彼らは、自分たちのうちにいますキリストの霊が、キリストの苦難とそれに続く栄光とを、あらかじめあかしした時、それは、いつの時、どんな場合をさしたのかを、調べたのである。

1	13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;	それだから、心の腰に帯を締め、身を慎み、イエス・キリストの現れる時に与えられる恵みを、いささかも疑わずに待ち望んでいなさい。
1	14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance;	従順な子供として、無知であった時代の欲情に従わず、
1	15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,	むしろ、あなたがたを召して下さった聖なるかたにならって、あなたがた自身も、あらゆる行いにおいて聖なる者となりなさい。
1	16 because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy."	聖書に、「わたしが聖なる者であるから、あなたがたも聖なる者になるべきである」と書いてあるからである。
1	17 And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear;	あなたがたは、人をそれぞれのしわざに応じて、公平にさばくかたを、父と呼んでいるからには、地上に宿っている間を、おそれの心をもって過ごすべきである。
1	18 knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers,	あなたがたのよく知っているとおり、あなたがたが先祖伝来の空疎な生活からあがない出されたのは、銀や金のような朽ちる物によったのではなく、
1	19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.	きずも、しみもない小羊のようなキリストの尊い血によったのである。
1	20He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you	キリストは、天地が造られる前から、あらかじめ知られていたのであるが、この終りの時に至って、あなたがたのために現れたのである。
1	21 who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.	あなたがたは、このキリストによって、彼を死人の中からよみがえらせて、栄光をお与えになった神を信じる者となったのであり、したがって、あなたがたの信仰と望みとは、神にかかっているのである。
1	22 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart,	あなたがたは、真理に従うことによって、たましいをきよめ、偽りのない兄弟愛をいだくに至ったのであるから、互に心から熱く愛し合いなさい。
1	23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,	あなたがたが新たに生れたのは、朽ちる種からではなく、朽ちない種から、すなわち、神の変ることのない生ける御言によったのである。
1	24 because "All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, And its flower falls away,	「人はみな草のごとく、／その栄華はみな草の花に似ている。草は枯れ、／花は散る。
1	25 But the word of the Lord endures forever." Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.	しかし、主の言葉は、とこしえに残る」。これが、あなたがたに宣べ伝えられた御言葉である。

2	1 Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking,	だから、あらゆる悪意、あらゆる偽り、偽善、そねみ、いっさいの悪口を捨てて、
2	2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,	今生れたばかりの乳飲み子のように、混じりけのない霊の乳を慕い求めなさい。それによっておい育ち、救に入るようになるためである。
2	3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.	あなたがたは、主が恵み深いかたであることを、すでに味わい知ったはずである。
2	4 Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious,	主は、人には捨てられたが、神にとっては選ばれた尊い生ける石である。
2	5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.	この主のみもとにきて、あなたがたも、それぞれ生ける石となって、霊の家に築き上げられ、聖なる祭司となって、イエス・キリストにより、神によろこばれる霊のいけにえを、ささげなさい。
2	6 Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, "Behold, I lay in Zion A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame."	聖書にこう書いてある、／「見よ、わたしはシオンに、／選ばれた尊い石、隅のかしら石を置く。それにより頼む者は、／決して、失望に終ることがない」。
2	7 Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient, "The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone,"	この石は、より頼んでいるあなたがたには尊いものであるが、不信仰な人々には「家造りらの捨てた石で、隅のかしら石となったもの」、
2	8 and "A stone of stumbling And a rock of offense." They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.	また「つまずきの石、妨げの岩」である。しかし、彼らがつまずくのは、御言に従わないからであって、彼らは、実は、そうなるように定められていたのである。
2	9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;	しかし、あなたがたは、選ばれた種族、祭司の国、聖なる国民、神につける民である。それによって、暗やみから驚くべきみ光に招き入れて下さったかたのみわざを、あなたがたが語り伝えるためである。

2	11 Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul,	愛する者たちよ。あなたがたに勧める。あなたがたは、この世の旅人であり寄留者であるから、たましいに戦いをいどむ肉の欲を避けなさい。
2	12 having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.	異邦人の中にあって、りっぱな行いをしなさい。そうすれば、彼らは、あなたがたを悪人呼ばわりしていても、あなたがたのりっぱなわざを見て、かえって、おとずれの日に神をあがめるようになろう。
2	13 Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake, whether to the king as supreme,	あなたがたは、すべて人の立てた制度に、主のゆえに従いなさい。主権者としての王であろうと、
2	14 or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good.	あるいは、悪を行う者を罰し善を行う者を賞するために、王からつかわされた長官であろうと、これに従いなさい。
2	15 For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men--	善を行うことによって、愚かな人々の無知な発言を封じるのは、神の御旨なのである。
2	16 as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God.	自由人にふさわしく行動しなさい。ただし、自由をば悪を行う口実として用いず、神の僕にふさわしく行動しなさい。
2	17 Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.	すべての人をうやまい、兄弟たちを愛し、神をおそれ、王を尊びなさい。
2	18 Servants, be submissive to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the harsh.	僕たる者よ。心からのおそれをもって、主人に仕えなさい。善良で寛容な主人だけにでなく、気むずかしい主人にも、そうしなさい。
2	19 For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully.	もしだれかが、不当な苦しみを受けても、神を仰いでその苦痛を耐え忍ぶなら、それはよみせられることである。
2	20 For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God.	悪いことをして打ちたたかれ、それを忍んだとしても、なんの手柄になるのか。しかし善を行って苦しみを受け、しかもそれを耐え忍んでいるとすれば、これこそ神によみせられることである。
2	21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:	あなたがたは、実に、そうするようにと召されたのである。キリストも、あなたがたのために苦しみを受け、御足の跡を踏み従うようにと、模範を残されたのである。
2	22 "Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth";	キリストは罪を犯さず、その口には偽りがなかった。
2	23 who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;	ののしられても、ののしりかえさず、苦しめられても、おびやかすことをせず、正しいさばきをするかたに、いっさいをゆだねておられた。
2	24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness--by whose stripes you were healed.	さらに、わたしたちが罪に死に、義に生きるために、十字架にかかって、わたしたちの罪をご自分の身に負われた。その傷によって、あなたがたは、いやされたのである。
2	25 For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.	あなたがたは、羊のようにさ迷っていたが、今は、たましいの牧者であり監督であるかたのもとに、たち帰ったのである。

3	1 Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives,	同じように、妻たる者よ。夫に仕えなさい。そうすれば、たとい御言に従わない夫であっても、
3	2 when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear.	あなたがたのうやうやしく清い行いを見て、その妻の無言の行いによって、救に入れられるようになるであろう。
3	3 Do not let your adornment be merely outward--arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel--	あなたがたは、髪を編み、金の飾りをつけ、服装をととのえるような外面の飾りではなく、
3	4 rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.	かくれた内なる人、柔和で、しとやかな霊という朽ちることのない飾りを、身につけるべきである。これこそ、神のみまえに、きわめて尊いものである。
3	5 For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands,	むかし、神を仰ぎ望んでいた聖なる女たちも、このように身を飾って、その夫に仕えたのである。
3	6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror.	たとえば、サラはアブラハムに仕えて、彼を主と呼んだ。あなたがたも、何事にもおびえ臆することなく善を行えば、サラの娘たちとなるのである。
3	7 Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.	夫たる者よ。あなたがたも同じように、女は自分よりも弱い器であることを認めて、知識に従って妻と共に住み、いのちの恵みを共どもに受け継ぐ者として、尊びなさい。それは、あなたがたの祈が妨げられないためである。
3	8 Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous;	最後に言う。あなたがたは皆、心をひとつにし、同情し合い、兄弟愛をもち、あわれみ深くあり、謙虚でありなさい。
3	9not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.	悪をもって悪に報いず、悪口をもって悪口に報いず、かえって、祝福をもって報いなさい。あなたがたが召されたのは、祝福を受け継ぐためなのである。
3	10 For "He who would love life And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips from speaking deceit.	「いのちを愛し、／さいわいな日々を過ごそうと願う人は、／舌を制して悪を言わず、／くちびるを閉じて偽りを語らず、
3	11 Let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it.	悪を避けて善を行い、／平和を求めて、これを追え。
3	12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."	主の目は義人たちに注がれ、／主の耳は彼らの祈にかたむく。しかし主の御顔は、悪を行う者に対して向かう」。
3	13 And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good?	そこで、もしあなたがたが善に熱心であれば、だれが、あなたがたに危害を加えようか。
3	14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you are blessed. "And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled."	しかし、万一義のために苦しむようなことがあっても、あなたがたはさいわいである。彼らを恐れたり、心を乱したりしてはならない。
3	15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;	ただ、心の中でキリストを主とあがめなさい。また、あなたがたのうちにある望みについて説明を求める人には、いつでも弁明のできる用意をしていなさい。
3	16having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed.	しかし、やさしく、慎み深く、明らかな良心をもって、弁明しなさい。そうすれば、あなたがたがキリストにあって営んでいる良い生活をそしる人々も、そのようにののしったことを恥じいるであろう。
3	17For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.	善をおこなって苦しむことは――それが神の御旨であれば――悪をおこなって苦しむよりも、まさっている。
3	18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,	キリストも、あなたがたを神に近づけようとして、自らは義なるかたであるのに、不義なる人々のために、ひとたび罪のゆえに死なれた。ただし、肉においては殺されたが、霊においては生かされたのである。
3	19 by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison,	こうして、彼は獄に捕われている霊どものところに下って行き、宣べ伝えることをされた。
3	20 who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.	これらの霊というのは、むかしノアの箱舟が造られていた間、神が寛容をもって待っておられたのに従わなかった者どものことである。その箱舟に乗り込み、水を経て救われたのは、わずかに八名だけであった。
3	21 There is also an antitype which now saves us--baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,	この水はバブテスマを象徴するものであって、今やあなたがたをも救うのである。それは、イエス・キリストの復活によるのであって、からだの汚れを除くことではなく、明らかな良心を神に願い求めることである。
3	22 who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him.	キリストは天に上って神の右に座し、天使たちともろもろの権威、権力を従えておられるのである。

4	1 Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,	このように、キリストは肉において苦しまれたのであるから、あなたがたも同じ覚悟で心の武装をしなさい。肉において苦しんだ人は、それによって罪からのがれたのである。
4	2 that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.	それは、肉における残りの生涯を、もはや人間の欲情によらず、神の御旨によって過ごすためである。
4	3 For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles--when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.	過ぎ去った時代には、あなたがたは、異邦人の好みにまかせて、好色、欲情、酔酒、宴楽、暴飲、気ままな偶像礼拝などにふけってきたが、もうそれで十分であろう。
4	4 In regard to these, they think it strange that you do not run with them in the same flood of dissipation, speaking evil of you.	今はあなたがたが、そうした度を過ごした乱行に加わらないので、彼らは驚きあやしみ、かつ、ののしっている。
4	5 They will give an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.	彼らは、やがて生ける者と死ねる者とをさばくかたに、申し開きをしなくてはならない。
4	6 For this reason the gospel was preached also to those who are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.	死人にさえ福音が宣べ伝えられたのは、彼らは肉においては人間としてさばきを受けるが、霊においては神に従って生きるようになるためである。
4	7 But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.	万物の終りが近づいている。だから、心を確かにし、身を慎んで、努めて祈りなさい。
4	8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for "love will cover a multitude of sins."	何よりもまず、互の愛を熱く保ちなさい。愛は多くの罪をおおうものである。
4	9 Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.	不平を言わずに、互にもてなし合いなさい。
4	10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.	あなたがたは、それぞれ賜物をいただいているのだから、神のさまざまな恵みの良き管理人として、それをお互のために役立てるべきである。
4	11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.	語る者は、神の御言を語る者にふさわしく語り、奉仕する者は、神から賜わる力による者にふさわしく奉仕すべきである。それは、すべてのことにおいてイエス・キリストによって、神があがめられるためである。栄光と力とが世々限りなく、彼にあるように、アァメン。
4	12 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;	愛する者たちよ。あなたがたを試みるために降りかかって来る火のような試錬を、何か思いがけないことが起ったかのように驚きあやしむことなく、
4	13 but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ's sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.	むしろ、キリストの苦しみにあずかればあずかるほど、喜ぶがよい。それは、キリストの栄光が現れる際に、よろこびにあふれるためである。
4	14 If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.	キリストの名のためにそしられるなら、あなたがたはさいわいである。その時には、栄光の霊、神の霊が、あなたがたに宿るからである。
4	15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people's matters.	あなたがたのうち、だれも、人殺し、盗人、悪を行う者、あるいは、他人に干渉する者として苦しみに会うことのないようにしなさい。
4	16 Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter.	しかし、クリスチャンとして苦しみを受けるのであれば、恥じることはない。かえって、この名によって神をあがめなさい。
4	17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?	さばきが神の家から始められる時がきた。それが、わたしたちからまず始められるとしたら、神の福音に従わない人々の行く末は、どんなであろうか。
4	18 Now "If the righteous one is scarcely saved, Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?"	また義人でさえ、かろうじて救われるのだとすれば、不信なる者や罪人は、どうなるであろうか。
4	19Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.	だから、神の御旨に従って苦しみを受ける人々は、善をおこない、そして、真実であられる創造者に、自分のたましいをゆだねるがよい。

5	1 The elders who are among you I exhort, I who am a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that will be revealed:	そこで、あなたがたのうちの長老たちに勧める。わたしも、長老のひとりで、キリストの苦難についての証人であり、また、やがて現れようとする栄光にあずかる者である。
5	2 Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly;	あなたがたにゆだねられている神の羊の群れを牧しなさい。しいられてするのではなく、神に従って自ら進んでなし、恥ずべき利得のためではなく、本心から、それをしなさい。
5	3 nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock;	また、ゆだねられた者たちの上に権力をふるうことをしないで、むしろ、群れの模範となるべきである。
5	4 and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.	そうすれば、大牧者が現れる時には、しぼむことのない栄光の冠を受けるであろう。
5	5 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble."	同じように、若い人たちよ。長老たちに従いなさい。また、みな互に謙遜を身につけなさい。神は高ぶる者をしりぞけ、へりくだる者に恵みを賜うからである。
5	6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,	だから、あなたがたは、神の力強い御手の下に、自らを低くしなさい。時が来れば神はあなたがたを高くして下さるであろう。
5	7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.	神はあなたがたをかえりみていて下さるのであるから、自分の思いわずらいを、いっさい神にゆだねるがよい。
5	8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.	身を慎み、目をさましていなさい。あなたがたの敵である悪魔が、ほえたけるししのように、食いつくすべきものを求めて歩き回っている。
5	9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.	この悪魔にむかい、信仰にかたく立って、抵抗しなさい。あなたがたのよく知っているとおり、全世界にいるあなたがたの兄弟たちも、同じような苦しみの数々に会っているのである。
5	10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.	あなたがたをキリストにある永遠の栄光に招き入れて下さったあふるる恵みの神は、しばらくの苦しみの後、あなたがたをいやし、強め、力づけ、不動のものとして下さるであろう。
5	11 To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.	どうか、力が世々限りなく、神にあるように、アァメン。
5	12 By Silvanus, our faithful brother as I consider him, I have written to you briefly, exhorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which you stand.	わたしは、忠実な兄弟として信頼しているシルワノの手によって、この短い手紙をあなたがたにおくり、勧めをし、また、これが神のまことの恵みであることをあかしした。この恵みのうちに、かたく立っていなさい。
5	13 She who is in Babylon, elect together with you, greets you; and so does Mark my son.	あなたがたと共に選ばれてバビロンにある教会、ならびに、わたしの子マルコから、あなたがたによろしく。
5	14 Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace to you all who are in Christ Jesus. Amen.	愛の接吻をもって互にあいさつをかわしなさい。キリストにあるあなたがた一同に、平安があるように。
